Football Outsiders is a blog that I read because they do some interesting evaluation of both NFL and college football teams. They publish two different metrics, (Fremeau Efficiency Index or FEI, and "S&P" Rankings) plus a combined meteric called F/+. The rankings are all based on play-by-play or drive-by-drive efficiency, and are updated weekly for strength of schedule. Below are ISU's F/+ rankings from 2005 - 2012. Note that this includes all games and only games against FBS competition - bowl games are in, FCS non-conference games are not. Our 2012 ranking will change two more times yet based on the results of this week's games (due to SOS adjustments) and our bowl game. Rankings only go back to 2005 because the necessary play-by-play data is not available for all FBS teams prior to that.
