Great chance to bring home another bowl trophy, plus a nye game. Wish it could play somebody else mainly just for viewing purposes. Wither way I wont complain to loudly. Would really like the kstate and wvu games back though.
Happy with bowl, neutral on opponent. There are a lot worse opponents it could be, like playing a team either practically at home or in their home state like we have in 3 of the last 5 bowls (Rutgers, TCU, Boise)
The Liberty Bowl has a rich tradition in College Football. Notching a victory and a winning season would be dandy.
Wanted Dallas for personal reasons. Would go there, but probably can't swing Memphis.
Bummed out
Was hoping for a Big 10 team. This is a joke. (bigger joke than the Big 10) Not happy at all.
It sounds like this is where the athletic dept and coaches watned to end up if all hell with the BSC broke lose. They knew the stiuation with Tulsa going in so that make me feel better about the situation. Would have been fun to beat up on a Big 10 team but the team made their bed with the 6-6 record and 9th place finish.
Happy with the bowl. I think it's better than Dallas anyhoo, and a better time slot/tv audience.
Undecided on the opponent. I think we match up well with them. It's not that I think it beneath the team to play them. It's just underwhelming. In my mind, bowls are magical places where you play someone... different.
But then again, looking at WVU-Syracuse and OU-A&M, I get the feeling of "I've seen this before" a lot with these bowls.
Regardless, I'll watch, and cheer, and spend the next week or two trying to see if I have enough money to go or just watch on TV.
Wasn't an option in the poll, but my write-in vote is "Satisfactory bowl under the circumstances (better than Pinstripe) but hate rematches, especially when there had to be other matchup options."
Memphis news station just had a segment on it. Showed only Iowa State highlights and didn't even talk about Tulsa.
Nothing like playing the same team three times in a 13-month span.
Did I mention it's better than Pinstripe Bowl?
I like everything about this bowl except the opponent. Literally any other team in the country and I would be excited for this game. But man nothing good comes out of this matchup.
