Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
So I have read through the information on Ticket Information , am wondering if there are options for tailgating other than this. It doesn't sound bad for the price, considering it includes 2 tickets, however I would like to purchase my tickets from ISU.
Haven't seen anything from ISU about parking/tailgating/etc. Did see:
"Tiger Lane tailgaters can begin setting up at 8:00am (CST) on the day prior to game day." Anyone else plan on tailgating/purchasing this package? Or are there other options...

Re: Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
i saw that too. the tailgating option looks fantastic - a stall for the car + greenspace (with an electric outlet to use)....and knowing how Clones tailgate....whoa.

From reading the parking info on the website, it appears that you can tailgate in any of the lots. Tiger Lane is definitely upscale tailgating but regular tailgating could be done in a regular lot, you just won't have electricity and green space. You may have to purchase two parking spaces if you need room to set up some stuff. Parking Information -
Re: Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
I was there last year and it does have a large area for tailgating. If I remeber correctly it was close to the fairgrounds which gave it an open feel.

Looking at google earth, the parking lot looks huge for tailgating.

Re: Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
So would you think that the tailgating experience in the general lots would be similar to the grass lots in Ames? Mainly, room behind vehicle for a tent/bean bags? Or just go with the $175 and not buy tickets from ISU.

Re: Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
According to Jamie Pollard there will be a Liberty Bowl BBQ cook off prior to the game and ISU will do rally at that time. May just want to pack some beers to bring along and just eat some great BBQ!Keep it simple that's what we are planning on doing. Also heard they serve beer in the stadium during game. Not sure if true or not.

Not sure if true or not. A liberty bowl exec was on Miller and Brinson yesterday and said they serve beer inside

As someone else has mentioned, the parking lots are very spacious (looking at Google Earth) and there should be plenty of room. Also with the BBQ event being held right next to the stadium in the midst of the parking lots, a huge elaborate tailgate wouldn't be needed.

Re: Liberty Bowl Tailgating?
Sounds like we are getting some good things in order well in advance. It was really difficult to tailgate last year and it didn't seems like there was much organized activity, other than the spirit walk and pep rally inside Yankee Stadium which was absolutely fantastic. I hope the Athletic Department puts together lots of family-friendly events this time, not just identify bars at which to hang out like last year.

They released some of the tiger lane parking (RV and non-rv) to Ticketmaster last night. Not many though and they will go fast.

I wonder when they will announce some of these "scheduled" events. Trying to plan our itinerary and don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves...

For God's sake people, buy your tickets through ISU.
