question on buying tickets
just went to cyclones.com to check out tickets. they are listed as tbd? why would i buy tickets from there not knowing where i will sit vs buying tickets from here knowing exactly where i'll sit?
i don't want to buy a group of tickets and get stuck in the endzone.
is there a reason i shouldn't buy tickets from another place. like this: AutoZone Liberty Bowl: Iowa State Cyclones vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane Football Tickets - Monday, December 31, 2012 at Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis, TN
also, how does one figure out which sections will be ISU vs tulsa fans?

Iowa State has an allotment of 10,000 tickets. They won't actually start placing people into seats until after the NCC priority deadline is passed. At that point, the seating will be filled in starting at the top of the donor food chain and moving down. That's why they can't tell you exactly where your seat will be yet.

Re: question on buying tickets
We go through this discussion every bowl game. If possible, it is better for ISU if you buy the tickets through our AD. If you do not care if you sit in an Iowa State section and need to know where you are sitting now, then buy your tickets through any number of sorces. The overall point is buy tickets and go.

The overall point is buy tickets and go. there have been only 7 bowl games in my lifetime. its not exactly rudimentary knowledge. furthermore, i've only had the opportunity to go to 2 of those. i guess i had the point right though of buying tickets and going.

Re: question on buying tickets
is it safe to assume that if one were to buy 4 tickets, they would be placed together? having never purchased tickets through our AD, this is a bit scary not knowing where i will be seated. is there a chart of where isu's 10k seats will be? obviously i don't want to get stuck in the endzone. how does one find this out?
sorry if these are stupid questions. i'm a first timer.

Re: question on buying tickets
If you buy a block of tix from ISU they would all be together, I am sure.
ISU is on the east side of the stadium. The tix you buy thru the ISU ticket office will likely be a corner or end zone. The bowl sponsors usually take the better seats, then give them to people who don't care and don't go. That really frosts me. I think maybe some U of Memphis season tix holders would also have tix to this game. That's why if you go on stubhub there are seats available between the 20s but nothing in the corners or end zone.
When we went to Shreveport (both times) we went thru ISU and got lousy seats. Well, I shouldn't complain, we're only in Section B at Trice, they weren't much worse than that.
But if you buy from stubhub, you could end up the only Cyclone fans in a section of people who don't really care about the game. Pick your poison. End of the day, you're at a bowl game!

Re: question on buying tickets
Buying through ISU helps make sure we sell our allotment which in the long run helps us get picked for better bowl games. More allotment tickets ISU AD buys = better bowl games. Buying through other places doesn't give us credit for the fans there. If you need to know where you're going to sit, wait until after friday at noon. It's really important that we are able to purchase all 10,000 tickets of our allotment.

Well sure .... but as a Cyclone fan you should do what you can to help the team and program get better. Since you can't, or don't want to donate, buying through the ticket office would be a great way to do your part to help the program improve. We as fans need to do everything we can to move the program to the next level. Sitting a few more rows up, is a minor sacrifice to do your part.

End of the day, you're at a bowl game! doesn't that place hole 55k or so? really sh!tty that the two schools can't get good seats to watch their own teams play. i hate the idea of dropping all this money to go support the team and getting stuck in the endzone or corner. moral dilemma. support the university and buy crap tickets through our ad, or get good tickets for nearly the same price and hope the rest of cyclone nation picks up for my dead weight. i always complain about fans not supporting the team. i guess i'll bite the bullet and get tickets through our ad and grumble the entire game about the location.
i hate that money talks. and that it always has so much to say.
