I think what he means is that he was a huge ambassador for the BB team. Talking it up to all and everyone he could, especially other recruits.

Agreed. Georges is like Big Dawg Williams in terms of recruits. Rhoads just landed the equivalent of Rashad Vaughn. Now it's Freddy's turn to actually land Vaughn!

That I would agree with. Georges has been great at that.
This is a huge recruit for many reasons but its great that its our first recruit. Rhoads and staff can sell that the recruits. Who wouldn't want to come play with some stud top 100 recruit?

I always wonder what Flynn could have done at QB with a less than atrocious offensive line. Austin would fit our offense quite well right now.

i kind of meant it as a guy that when big recruiting websites interview him he is going to talk up Iowa State and market our program very well. He's gonna talk to other players about the special things happening in Ames. And when the big boys come calling he turns them away. This kid is excited to play at iowa state. And same with Georges

Lazard is Iowa State's first commitment in the 2014 class. He is also the top ranked junior prospect in the state of Iowa and has already been selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in 2014. He plans to put that recruiting capital to good use on the recruiting trail over the next 14 months. "With my commitment it will help with top in-state recruits. I already talk to most of them every now and then and we'll see each other at Iowa State games," Lazard said. "Then, when I go to the Army Bowl I will be able to get to more highly ranked recruits there, tell them about Iowa State and hopefully attract them up here."
Get him to work!! http://iowastate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1444856
Wow that's awesome! Go get 'em Allen!
Re: Allen Lazard Commits to ISU
On a scale of 1 to AWESOME this ranks up there with ****ING AWESOME.
I nearly broke my computer monitor from the excessive fist-pumping when I found out.
Re: Allen Lazard Commits to ISU
I have no idea what the gum chewing king has been recruiting, but it is starting to feel like we are getting a leg up on in-state guys.

And as Andy Fales has said - the tide hasn't completely turned, but times are a changin'. We are winning the in-state recruits.
To be honest, this was hardly a fair recruitment battle. Didn't his father play for Iowa State and isn't his brother on the team now? We had a huge advantage going into this one.

We've had similar advantages before and still lost the recruit. I think that's a very good sign.
CPR is building relationships with Iowa coaches which will pay off for years to come.

Yeah, but you have to win the easy ones before you can win the hard ones.

Not just Rhoads. I know young Burnham and Bleil in particular have great relationships with coaches around the state. Both extremely likable guys.
