Re: Iowa State's Class of 2013
This Madison kids skillset reminds me of Aldon Smith. He would be a DE here but he's the kind of athlete that could play that OLB spot in a 3-4. I don't care if he's a little smaller. 240 shouldn't be an issue and that's plenty big with the quickness he appears to have. You need to rush the passer in this conference.

Re: Iowa State's Class of 2013
Another site (I do not have subscription to) shows the article headline that we are in the lead for JuCo Safety Jerry Haymon from the College of the Sequoias. Couldn't find stats but found Hudl video. Looks to be pretty sure tackler (wraps up effectively, little high on most tackles) and pretty good in coverage (looks like he had his hands on the ball several times but couldn't secure the pick). Good size & plays physical. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2011376/...ights/19095375
Hope the other visitors feel the same way & hopefully we hear something soon!

I agree, potential good news. 247 Sports has him an OG. Rivals has him a Strongside DE. Replacement for Vincent Johnson on offense or more defensive help (down to 15 DL compared to this year's 18)?
BTW, I got a good feeling about Justin Madison joining the good guys.

Also, think Garcia would fit in well with a move inside - much like last year's class seems to have achieved (recruiting HS DEs, through S&C program have them get stronger & bigger & make the move inside).
Wouldn't be bad to add to the OL either. Good to have options.

Ryan Glenn, OL out of Waukee, told me that they are removing his grayshirt and will be on scholarship starting this coming fall.

No reason to greyshirt with scholarships opening up. And he seems to be a good enough prospect to not need extra time to develop.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

I think he could develop nicely. I really think this classes O-Line is going to be very good in a few years. Some of these names with a veteran Farniok anchoring the line.
Really hoping we pull in an impact JU-CO on defense to help solidify a position or two.

Quite a while ago Tyrone McKenzie transferred from Michigan State (and then to USF)
