Wowsers!! Does this elevation in Stardom mean that soon CPR's recruiting will be equal to the uofi's fabled Capt. Kirk? Where other teams wait to see what Unknowns the good Capt. has uncovered, then those other teams swoop in to try to poach the kid? I'm getting shivers just thinking about the possibilities. Do more Stars mean the SEZ project is bumped up the time line?

Stars are far from perfect, but, there is a strong correlation between stars and success on the field. I haven't checked the history, but, our current 2.67 is pretty good compared to our history. I agree with Debbie Downer that our "rank" will go down as other schools fill in their numbers, but, we're getting better. There's 11 guys on the field at one time and our coach helps our guys play better than anyone else thought they could.

It's the top 12 -15 players, in a recruiting class, that will ultimately determine whether that particular class was good, or not.

247 Sports has our top 10 (rated) recruits: Campos, Suttles, Coe, Bibbs, Meeks, Barnes, Wimberly (soft commit), DA Williams, Homa, Hodge
Rivals has (in order): Campos, Coe, Curtis, Homa, Wimberly, then 10 with equal rating (3*, 5.5 rating)
ESPN has (in order, but JC's not given a 'grade'): Curtis, Lanning, Williams, Brown, Campos, Severs, Suttles, Trent, Syrie, Hodge
Scout has just 16 commits listed & I haven't given them much credence in a while.

A fair difference in rankings between these services. Few seem to always be near the top (Campos & Coe), while others are high in one & low in another (Lanning, Brown). Still, as more film comes in from their senior-seasons, one should expect increases in ratings/stars & that is a good thing. More along the lines of increasing our (ISU fans') faith in the coaching staff & their eye for talent than anything else.

Month ago, Brandon Harris was listed as our top recruit on ESPNU one night. Didn't match with what ESPN showed on the 'Net at the time, but found that interesting when I was watching the ol' TV

Brandon Harris is the third best WR on his HS team, so probably had a lot less targets than most guys with his talent would.

In my memory KSU was always doing this to us in the Mac years. All of a sudden one of ISU's recruits was being poached by KState. Seemed like it was happening a lot.
