I am involved with some clubs on campus and the licensing department won't allow us to have black apparel that has yellow/gold text on it. With that, I don't think we will ever have black uniforms, but I think some combination of gray would awesome. Also, I would like to see a helmet like Oregon has.Attachment 16814

White-white-white beats cardinal-white-white.

And that's radical coming from me, since white is my third choice for both helmet and pants.

I did like them until..... UCLA wore W/W/W last year and lost to USC 50-0... They will forever be know by fans of both teams as the Surrender Uniforms.

Your other four possibiities (along with the standard current combos) offers at least 7 viable options:


*Cardinal helmet-cardinal jersey-gold pants (standard home)

*Gold-cardinal-gold (alt-home)
*Gold-gold-gold (alt-home)
*White-white-white (alt road)
*Gold-white-gold (alt-road)


Personally I would stop there (no all-red, no white helmets or white pants other than all white, for a few examples).

I’d be surprised to get even one alternate helmet, let alone two — even sticking with a single hat, we have multiple possibilities within our current design and color set to keep things “interesting” with no redesign or the need to stray into gray/black.

I'd love to see the Gold-gold-gold as the debut of the gold helmet. It'd need to be for a "Gold Rules" game or whatever they call it. No one really seems to take that seriously, but I think it would be incredibly awesome if they promoted it this way - and it could be really successful. Everyone should get a free gold towel at that game too. I'm sure you would still have the attention whores in the student section with their horses heads, neon costumes, etc. but it would be mostly gold.

Beatle the best thing I like about your concepts are the punching Cy on the hip of the pants...I believe the basketball shorts from the mid 90's had the one with the blue in it. I also prefer the stripe pattern on our current home jerseys, but the outlining of white definitely would make it look better with a white helmet.

I'd rather have us continue to be confused with USC than Iowa.

HAHAHA! No ****! Talk about Identity crisis. I still hear us being called the Hawkeyes. And that is from sportscasters, imagine what the regular public would think. Look Might be cool, but we have to keep Black out of our Unis. Iowa fans would jump all over us for copying them, and rightly so.

This got me thinking, what about a doing the chrome lids with the cyclone logo above with a gray rendition of these:


Could make the jersey and pants gray with cardinal and gold accents to make those colors pop more. Maybe the stripes could be gold with cardinal trim, and do 1 cardinal and 1 gold stripe down the side of the pants?

I think the Jack Trice uni's are the only way to go, and this would be another option in getting those types of unis onto the field and potentially into reality

Another thought I had would be to do the I-State logo or whatever we want in cardinal and gold on the chrome. That would make the colors and logo pop off the helmet that much more, rather than blending in on the current cardinal helmet. I don't like the logo, but the ones North Carolina had this year are a good example of what I would be talking about.

Found this one of ASU's trident logo that is kinda sweet, similar colors to ours so just a little tweaking would give a good idea of what some of us are thinking of in chrome/metallic type helmet base.
