This isn't high school where you have to pick your team from your student body. They recruit a full team to come play. Size of student body may have in impact on crowds, but not on quality of football team.
Baylor only has 12,500 undergrads
Notre Dame? 8400

Still, though, 3000 is pretty small for a team that has done as well as they have for many years. Do they have anything else, like basketball? Or women's sports? Or any students who aren't athletes?

It helps to play in C-USA
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
Tulsa has sold around 5k, I bet we end up bringing around 7500 to 10,000.

Quite the extrapolation, by that logic we should have between 20-26k ?
Actually it is surprising how many end up showing on game day based on school sales, I saw a tweet earlier about our 09 insight bowl sales being like 9k. And it sure seemed like we had a hell of a lot more, at least double that at the actual game.

I think it might be because other than higher level donors, you don't personally benefit a ton by going through the school, and i believe can actually see where your seats will be.

In fact it hurts you. Especially if you have a group bigger than 4 people wanting to sit together.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
Probably truth to that, I wish there was a way of knowing how many people were using sources other than our ticket office. I do expect us to come close to 20k by the time we kick off. But that could be a steep estimation based on how much the sales have slowed this week.
I do know that we have about 6-7 to buy yet but aren't worried about where we are sitting, just happy to go.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
Our fans are just slow to buy tickets, a lot of them are old so they are probably mailing in their orders.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
MSU reportedly has only sold 2000 of their 11,000 allotment for the BWW Bowl vs TCU.

I would think your fan base might be excited at a rematch to get a win more so than our fan base is for a second win. Easy travel and a NYC expense bowl game last year has our fan base just itching for a reason to travel together cheaply.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
I'd love to go back to Phoenix. Too bad we couldn't get another win. I think our turn out would have been equally as impressive given the extra 14 hours of travel or expensive airfare.

Id trade them and play TCU again in Arizona!!! They are missing out.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
I know of several people that are not going through the university and I'll bet there are thousands more, except students who get the subsidized tickets.
Re: ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!
Our fan base is excited but when you only have 20k fans total its hard to get half of your fans to your bowl game.
