The botton part of the league sucks in attendance. On the other hand, while ISU is less than 2,000 tickets away from being third in the Big 12 in attendance, they'd be over 15,000 away from being 7th in the Big 10.
Correct, but there are also more teams in the Big 10 and will be even more now.
It is especially true since the way the two leagues were historically set up, A&M and Nebraska both left with their huge stadiums, Nebraska going to the Big 10.
Now if only small stadiums translated to easy schedules...... that would be nice.

Its crazy their attendance is so good. Probably one of the only 2-3 schools that legit has a better tailgating than Ames I have heard their games are awesome. And their schedule wasn't anything special this year (last year ECU had VT and UNC at home which obviously is gonna help but this year they just played CUSA teams.)
If ECU had been in the ACC or even the Big East for the past couple of decades they would be legit. A school with 28k students and a fairly large, passionate fan-base (more so than some of the other NC schools imo) in a highly populated state should be in a power conference if TVs really do matter.
