Golden only said he wasn't interested when reports came out that he was taking the job.
FWIW, I heard Alvarez on XM the other day. He said he had done two interviews and was waiting for a call to set up a third. He also said he wanted to name a coach before the bowl game. Lot of speculation about Bobby DiAcco for the Wisky job now...

Re: You heard it here first folks: Jon Gruden to ISU!
First, once again yet another demonstration of the thin skin that ISU fan has. The columnist makes a joke about CPR going to Wisconsin (because that's what it was - a joke), and Cyclone Nation once again starts freaking out that CPR is leaving and ISU football is going to suck again and blasé blasé blasé. Over the last 6+ years I've come to realize that some fans just aren't happy unless they're in a full blown panic meltdown. The rest of us sane ones realize he's not going anywhere simply because he hasn't done anything yet. Yeah, I know, Chizik. Remind me how long he lasted at Auburn...
Second, it was funny as hell.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: You heard it here first folks: Jon Gruden to ISU!
I think there is as much of a chance that CPR goes to Wisconsin as there is that Gruden comes to ISU.

Plus, last night CW retweeted that Mike Riley of Oregon St. would be interviewing for the Sconnie job.

I dont think he leaves now but he will leave. When he gets at least at 8 wins at ISU a lot of places will pay him very good money.

Re: You heard it here first folks: Jon Gruden to ISU!
Again with the money thing. If he leaves, it will be because he feels he can't get a championship here and has a good chance somewhere else. Seriously, how many millions of dollars does it take to make someone happy? Especially in middle america where everything is cheaper than anywhere else in the country. he will not leave for "money"

No college coach dreams of closing out every season at 7-6 (although to be fair some probably wish they could)!

Are people really worried about coach leaving? Seriously?

I hadn't heard anything until I got on here. Such is the beauty of message boards!

Re: You heard it here first folks: Jon Gruden to ISU!
Two thoughts:
1. As Pollard said, it is a great problem to have when people want your coach. Better than YOU not wanting them.
2. Keith Murphy made a good point yesterday on his show in regards to the climate of college football (i.e. $$ and network deals). Basically, he said how things have changed where teams have more money to go after whoever and buyouts are basically no issue due to money as well.

Wisconsin247 site says Rhoads and Diaco very much in play for the job.
