Pat Forde of Yahoo put together a reason why each bowl team has a shot at Gruden after this year with his "Gratuitous Gruden Rumors". For us, Gruden takes his "dream job" in Ames after Rhoads leaves for Wisconsin.

...Panic!

Pat also seems to be about the only sports writer out there who doesn't think Tulsa will beat us. His reasoning: we play in the Big 12, duh.

You know, I don't think Rhoads is going anywhere, but I really wish he would just come out and say it's not happening before this rumor keeps building steam. Miami's coach already said he isn't going.

Al Golden has a sick team returning that already won the costal division starting 30+ freshman, too.

It would be nice to hear that he is here for the long haul but in the past we have had that happen and been immediately stabbed in the back.

I think he may be leaving it alone to not give it any credence. Maybe he feels he doesn't need to dignify it by responding.

Rhoads will probably be rumored to go somewhere every year he's here at ISU from here on. We've already seen it actually. If he comes out and says he's not going to Wisconsin then he'll have to say that for every job he's "rumored" for just to prevent a panic in Ames. I would guess we probably won't hear anything from him.

When Ferentz was the golden child hawk fans said the same thing. That was many years ago and now they can't get rid of him.

CPR is classy, so my biggest fear right now is that he would keep it quiet until after the bowl game. Wisky isn't in any hurry to make an announcement as Barry stepped in to coach the bowl. If wisky doesn't have a name before we play our bowl game, I'm going to be very worried.

That is why the solitude from Wiscy is a little troubling. They must be going after a bowl coach.

I don't see how it's in any school's best interest to be mum on who their coach will be if they have one lined up. Knowing which coach you'll be playing for tends to be a big deal to recruits...
