Re: DE Ernest Suttles not "All In"?
I really hope we can keep Suttles on board.
If I had to make a short list of the current verbals that I'd least like us to lose on Signing Day, he'd definately be on it. DE's are hard to find, and he looks like a good one IMO.

Re: DE Ernest Suttles not "All In"?
How much back and forth goes on in recruiting? What I mean by that is a scenario like this: Mark Player is being recruited by ISU. He visits, likes what he sees, and at the end of the visit is told by the staff he's #1 on their list at his position, and he gives a 'verbal commitment.' He does like ISU, but also wants to get his verbal out there for a fall back position, in case 'Bama doesn't offer. He still has other visits scheduled, and doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and besides, thinks the chicks are hot. So he goes to school B, likes it a lot, and decides he's undecided. Does the ISU staff then come back and tell him that if he has pulled his verbal, they will offer the next player down on their list?

Does the ISU staff then come back and tell him that if he has pulled his verbal, they will offer the next player down on their list? I don't think it's quite that regimented. Who knows if the player would actually contact ISU to let them know that he's considering other schools? I'm guessing that it's not uncommon for them to be silent on that, since there's bound to be some embarrassment attached to going back on your word. That's why it's important for schools to keep in contact, even after a player gives their verbal, and keep recruiting them.
This is where social media is good, imho. One of the things that really impressed me about last year's recruits was how much they talked to each other on Twitter. Big Dog, Aka, Quan West, Luke Knott etc, were all active on
Twitter, and developed relationships with each other before signing day. In my opinion, the unity that can be created from that can be as powerful as a daily call from CPR himself.

There's a Rivals article that's title is "Cyclones keep DE commitment." I don't know what it says, since I'm not a member, but I would assume that it's safe for us to say that Suttles will be a Cyclone

Glad this one is over (or as over as it can be until signature is affixed to LOI).

I'd say "until said player steps into a classroom next Fall" (think Pavlenko), but I'm satisfied with how things are right now.
With what will likely amount to being a quartet of defensive tackles redshirting, we really needed so ends to counterbalance in this class. Especially edge rushers, and I hope Suttles can at least generally fit that Reggie Hayward/Jason Berryman role.
We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.
