Re: Pollard: More Tickets Sold Than Any ISU Bowl Game!
[QUOTE=LutherBlue;3227583]Total attendance was under 42,000 and I doubt ISU had quite as many as you think. But we did have a lot of people, certainly dominated judging by all the red in the stands.[/QUOTE
Pitt had about 1,000 fans there. I don't doubt 35,000 ISU fans number and would be surprised if we beat that figure in Memphis.

I'm guessing we will have 15-17k in Memphis and everyone will report 25k. 20000 in phx easily. And I trust pollards estimate of 25000 for Memphis over your guess.... I'll let ya know as I was in phx and will be at Memphis too...

I'm guessing we will have 15-17k in Memphis and everyone will report 25k. You are an idiot. We have sold, what, 14k through ISU alone. And a large percentage bought through other sources. 25k is about what I expect now.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

I'm guessing we will have 15-17k in Memphis and everyone will report 25k. I don;t know what you are talking about. Frankly, I am dissapointed, for the first Liberty Bowl 40 years ago, didn't we have like 70,000

Re: Pollard: More Tickets Sold Than Any ISU Bowl Game!
JP is doing his job. A little attendance propaganda is good for ISU.
We've sold 14k through the ticket office (or there abouts). I think another 20-25% purchased tickets elsewhere.
14 * .25 = 3.5
14 + 3.5 = 17.5k
There will not be 25k in Memphis. 20k will be the most and I believe that will be high. We will have a very large group of fans there though so you want to inflate the number...which is what JP is doing.
Same thing happened for Insight in 2000. 20-23k became 30-35k.

Re: Pollard: More Tickets Sold Than Any ISU Bowl Game!
Pollard said in an interview that a lot of locals go to this game every year (20,000?). It should look like an excellent crowd on TV. For those going, please do a Cyclone Power chant right away!
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -
Re: Pollard: More Tickets Sold Than Any ISU Bowl Game!
It should look good on TV that's for sure. Some of the bowl games look pathetic with 10% of the stadium filled.

A chance to travel with family & friends, get to have one last tailgate, see the team one more time, get to experience NYE in another city with thousands of other cyclone fans. I just like the invasion atmosphere that comes with bowl games, having so many people from Iowa migrating to a city together for an event like this. I’d also like to hit up some Memphis BBQ.

What say you? It'll be a little different from Jack Trice doing East and West, but I don't expect the Tulsa fans on the other side of the field to finish our chant for us...

I agree with this. I think it would be fun to experience it but I'm just not interested in the actual game at all and even less intersted in experiencing Memphis. Like I said, it's awesome that we have tons of support.
If it was in Arizona or San Diego I'd be there.
