Saw CPR a while ago heading out to an 8:00 meeting, he looked ready to get a win.
D
Me and my buddies chugged Tequila and started a mechanical bull party at Coyote Ugly last night.
The QB for Tulsa in the 2005 liberty bowl was there and talked about how they were winning the liberty bowl in 2005 and ISU wasn't bowling (actually we were in the houston bowl, but don't let facts get in the way of a put down) and then Jake made the point that in 2005 CPR wasn't here but he is now and things are different. Tulsa had their AD and QB from 05 talk, but no coaches or players were there for them.
Your reference seems to be lost on a few...

At the parade and pep rally every single Memphis motorcycle policeman had an I State logo on the back of their helmets. Looked pretty sweet, we are definitely home!
We were laying down a good base this morning at a Waffle House. The place was filled with cardinal and gold. A couple Tulsa fans walked in and a waitress yells out, "Oh look, the other team showed up. Iowa State has been here for days." Yep, we gave her a big ol tip.
The locals have been extremely friendly and gracious. It has been fun seeing ISU fans everywhere we go. The Tulsa fans we've run into so for have been less than friendly and gracious... including the guy who walked up to someone in our group yesterday during the parade and said, "So, ya''ll are the hawkeyes?" laughed at his own little funny joke and meandered away.
We're at the Holiday Inn way out east of the stadium and Beale Street and I figured we wouldn't see many other Cyclone fans here since we're so far away. Boy was I wrong. Yesterday morning we saw a few at breakfast, but this morning all 12 tables in the breakfast area were full of Cyclone fans. Not a single Tulsa fan here. It was awesome.
I have a few:
1. In the second half, when the Tulsa kicker kick the ball out of bounds and ISU decide to move the ball back five and have them re-kick it, there was a guy who said, "That will either be the biggest play of the year or Rhoads is an idiot."
2. There was a little girl, probably 8-9, that sat behind us and said this, "Why doesn't he (Steele) throw the ball to the wide open guy."
Not from the stands, but it was notable...my 2 1/2 year old son, who threw a fit if he couldn't wear ISU stuff all year long...at the end of the game asked to put a different shirt on (he was wearing an ISU jersey). He didn't even know what happened with the game, really, but it was like...he knew, man.
