Re: Richardson Sick
The D was terrible. However, scoring 35 against Tulsa shouldn't have been a problem.... I have a feeling that if you play this game ten times Tulsa only wins it once. We hit the wrong day. That's how it goes.

Tulsa dominated the LOS all day.We didnt hit the wrong day....we went against a team that was physically superior.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -
Re: Richardson Sick
If this is true Jantz should have entered mid second quarter. And don't give me crap that SJ turned it over, the game was over, the pick was 90% Lenz fault, and the fumble came after SJ had the audacity to run for the teams second first down of the half.
SR's play can be excused by the flu but he shouldn't have been allowed to have 8 or 9 consecutive 3 and outs if he was flu ridden. And he looked fine in the first quarter and warming up.
Rhoads had an awful game as coach. I think he deserves more blame than the players since he allowed his team to squander a nice early lead and let a sick quarterback do nothing for 2 and a half quarters. He has some changes to make starting at OC. And with this teams problems he needs to make sure next year they go 3-0 in the non conference since none of UNI, EIU, and Tulsa are automatic wins...and if one of those games is dropped there won't be a bowl there will be a couple ugly Big 12 losses. Rohach or Richardson will need a bowl next year for the practices.
3 or 4 Big 12 wins is possible but you need better play calling. The worst was the garbage with Horne coming out of the backfield running or pass catching/blockin I haven't seen anything as stupid or ugly ever.
Chris Ault from Nevada would be a good OC and I think he just "retired" so he could get a coordinator job elsewhere and turn the program over (budget frustrations) at a decent time for whoever follows I wouldn't mind some pistol offense in Ames.

I'm not sure what circumstances really make Steele a good idea. No OL help, so he was bound to get desperate. No one wants to have a turnover prone QB get desperate.

I am confidant that SJ could have doubled his TO's if he had been put in earlier.

Had to LOL at the two Jantz TOs. That guy is a walking TO machine. It's crazy. SR must have been really sick because I got sick watching him play. I kid, I kid (sort of). I am actually glad there maybe an open competition in the spring after watching SR's poor play.

Re: Richardson Sick
I think Sam Richardson playing the game is a question I can't answer. With him having the flu I don't know if he gave the team the best chance to win or not. I would commend him for starting and trying to play. That is a sign of leadership and I think he is the quarterback of the future for ISU. It was only his 3rd start and he was sick, that would take a lot of people out of even trying to play.

It was only his 3rd start and he was sick, that would take a lot of people out of even trying to play. I think he still may have been the best option, because he still, as we could see, make some plays, but it was obvious that he wasn't doing as well as he should have been.
I think with the pressure that Tulsa was putting on Richardson, Jantz would have put us out of the game faster, at least with Richardson, we went into the half with a chance

Re: Richardson Sick
I'm just glad SJ will never take another snap so all the SJ fans stop defending him. He has been awful for 2 years.
