If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls
Of course, the blue has to go. But what to do about Cy? He seems to need a makeover, but not sure what I would recommend.
I GOT IT!
Keep the head on. Take off the body costume. Put an Iowa State football uniform on him!
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
Hope they got a bargain. . . . It is hard to imagine that a band outfitter couldn't provide a decent cardinal color. And if not, it seems time to find another vendor rather than pick grey. . . . Whenever I see them, I think "military academy."
If you haven't noticed, I believe it is Nike Grey, and almost every team in the country has adopted that grey as a "neutral" our bball warm ups are that grey as well. I hate it.
You can't blame the fans for this. Our Athletic Department feels they need to change our logo every 10-20 years or so. I don't know of many other schools that do this, but in my mind it's an obvious ploy to continually force fans to buy new gear.
