Don't get me wrong I would love him to come here, but I don't believe it will happen. I agree. I can have them if I want. Having said that, you don't know Oregon won't hire Rich Rodriguez or something and leave Frost in the cold. Long shot, sure, but who knows. I think Oregon may look for something bigger than Frost but who knows. Originally Posted by Clones85' Ernst has been solid. But before Ernst the TE's were awful last year and the WR's were awful the 2 years before that. Is that all on Wells? No. But there is a reason he went from WR's to TE's and it wasn't because he was coaching well. I agree. If I have to give up a position in terms of coaching right now it's TEs though. We actually have some good talent there with Bruns and Bibbs. Maybe I heard wrong but wasn't Brun kind of hard to coach early on. I think he said that in an interview somewhere.

Re: Luke Wells
I would love to bring Scott Frost in, unfortunately he is almost too good for us only a position coach. If Rhoads screws around with the OC job some then maybe Frost would make some sense. This could get interesting though because I don't see Rhoads demoting or firing Mess for at least another year, but at the same time both Sturdy and Scott Frost come across as more legit OC's for the time being.

Re: Luke Wells
I am happy to hear this, he has always seemed to under achieve in his 4 years. Wished this would've happened sooner. Im sure he's a good guy, but this hire never panned out. Tine to move Mess back and get a new OC.

Brun's best play prior to the bowl game was a TD on the left sideline where he ran the wrong pattern and made a great burst to the endzone. CPR also commented on him making an unnecessary one-handed catch in a game. And his blocking on quick outs wasn't much.
Having said that, I thought he made a lot of progress this year. Great athlete and natural leader who is becoming a very solid player. Don't know whether that was the influence of the coach or just having the opportunity to perform.

Re: Luke Wells
Bleil and Mess next please and thanks CPR.
Worst case would be then to promote Sturdy to OC. Can't be worse then the OC under CPR....
Come here to chew bubble gum and kick ***, have I. And all out of bubble gum, I am. -
Re: Luke Wells
Outside of Brun, our TEs have hands of stone.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Luke Wells
Doesnt sound like Wimberly is too enthused about it.

Re: Luke Wells
I don't know how well the tight ends have played at Montana State, but former Iowa State GA & Assistant Director of Football Operations, Erik Link, would be a guy with domestic ties to the program that is already a TE coach.
The Montana State OC just took the same position at Montana State, maybe there might be some shaking-up going on up in Bozeman.

Re: Luke Wells
Has Wimberly inked yet? If not does anyone feel he might look elsewhere? I freaking hope not.
-
Re: Luke Wells
I don't believe he has inked yet but I'm not 100% certain. He had already changed his mind once before to go pursue other schools before so I wouldn't be shocked if he was out. It won't matter though. He'd only have one year to start & would get little to no PT next year
