Grant Rohach
Since everyone is all over the place on QB predictions next season, I though I would kind of look over the highlights of who we have. Hodge looked like a good up and comer but watch Grant's highlight video, he seems to be primed for ISU as they run the spread, but he also runs for his life almost every snap due to poor blocking. Obviously, I have no tape on him from last season but kinda hope this guy is good enough to challenge for the job and take it. Obviously I will be fine with whoever wins the qb battle, just thought I would see everyone's thoughts on this. Originally Posted by AltHawk Why would it? One bad game doesn't change a thing. Re: Grant Rohach
Only thing, about Grant Rohach, that has given me a reason for concern, is that Rohach threw nearly twice as many interceptions (during his high school career) as either Sam Richardson or Trevor Hodge. Could be a case of "strong arm" causing QB to force in throws that are ill-advised.

Re: Grant Rohach
I just hope that someday we find a quarterback who is good enough to be the starter the whole season.

Re: Grant Rohach
I hate to tell you this, but everyone looks like an All American on their highlight tapes. Go back and look at the tapes for Richardson, Jantz, Barnett and even our kick holder.

Re: Grant Rohach
Good freshman QBs are playing all over around the country. This is what we need.
ISU QB production in Big 12 play.
vs TT Jantz 10-20 50% 73 yards
vsTCU Barnett 12-21 57% 183 yards
vsKSU Barnett 16-36 44% 166 yards
vsOSU Barnett 19-39 48% 206 yards
vsBaylor Jantz 36-52 69% 381 yards
vsOU Jantz 20-40 50% 191 yards
vsTexas Jantz 15-29 50% 133 yards
vsKU SR 23-27 85% 250 yards
vsWVU SR 13-31 41% 162 yards
vsTulsa SR 10-21 47% 129 yards
Either we find a QB... or just schedule Baylor and KU for all our games.

Re: Grant Rohach
I think we need to temper our expectations for Grant. He may be great, but i worry he is going to screw up a couple times and this board will crucify him.

Re: Grant Rohach
glad he ha experience running for his life that will help a lot. But one thing I noticed in the video was that he throws a lot of high risk passes that will be intercepted in the college game.

Re: Grant Rohach
I can sum up his highlight tape by saying he looks like Jantz with better receivers and much slower defenses. Good news is he has more time to develop than the Steelest.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

He also threw into a crowd back in California. Steele does.

Re: Grant Rohach
But I will say, our QBs need to be able to create a play in the roll out as it's obvious that they can't count on time in the pocket like many other B12 qbs can.
And Rohach shows more arm strength than most others on the roster.
