Almost every year I have the same response to bowl season. The top of the SEC is the best and the rest of the BCS conferences are not worth trying to evaluate overall strength.

Big 12 is going to be in for a rough time.

OU is going to be down next year. Belldozer at QB is not good and they don't have much for skill players right now. Their defense blows.

Texas has Mack Brown problems, will be fine but not dominate.

    WV will blow.
    Kansas blows.
    Clones won't be great.
    Baylor maybe decent.
    OSU probably pretty good.
    TCU maybe decent.

Amazing that Manziel comes along their first year in the SEC. Can't believe Sherman redshirted him. Sumlin gets all the credit and he didnt even recruit him.

Re: Big 12 gettin worked tonight

Baylor had a nice game in the Holiday. Shame it wasn't ISU since they'd have been in it if Woody didn't fumble against WVA (UCLA prob wins easily though.) Thats the only good really performance in terms of conference prestige but theres other wins.

Mike Riley gave the Longhorns their win that game was disgusting and hard to believe someone managed to be a much worse coach than Mack Brown.

Texas Tech had a good win against Minny. I know it was an easy cover for the gophers and they should have won outright but their a good team that Kirkwood is a bowling ball and Gray looked good when he played no way the Red Raiders should have been laying 2 tds. Okie St won as well and destroyed Purdue.

Thats 4 wins which isn't bad I'd step back from the ledge.

OU has always been an embarrassment this year. I've disagreed with people on here about OU but I have thought all along that team is a heartless joke and Stoops gifted K State and ND dream seasons they didn't deserve because his kids laid down for some unapparent reason in those games. They could have sleep walked to an undefeated regular season like the one they had in 05 when USC humiliated them in the NC if Stoops was able to motivate his morons.

TCU returns their entire defense and possibly their qb that sit out most of the year this year. OSU and them could be battling it out for the o conference title.

Re: Big 12 gettin worked tonight

    My thoughts.....

The B12 was deep with above average teams, but not a lot of great teams this year.

Computer rankings and conference power rankings are the thing B12 people keep pointing too, while the SEC keeps pointing to NC's, BCS and bowl wins.

Our two league champs (OU and KSU) would have a hard time going above .500 in the SEC this year, depending on how their schedule fell.

The Championship Bowl is going to be an anual bruise to the B12's ego unless Stoops and Mack brown retire and/or get fired.

Those two have peaked and stagnated. In college football today, you have to keep re-inventing yourself, and very few coaches can do that. Right now, KSU is our flagship program, and they simply can't match up with most BCS teams from a talent standpoint. They win in the B12 because they are not soft, like most of the rest of the offense heavy teams.

ISU finished 9th in an average league. Us beating Iowa by 3 and splitting with Tulsa, were not flukes.

Re: Big 12 gettin worked tonight

Big 12 had some tough matchups this year in the bowl games. As for other conferences, only the SEC was very impressive.

No need to compare to the Big 10 or the SEC, but we went 2-1 against the Pac which had a major advantage in the rankings over our teams, Stanford barely beat Wisconsin, and USC got beat by a not good GTech. The Big East gets up for bowls very well trying to prove they are worth a damn but is still the Big East. The ACC had Clemson with a notable point win over LSU but other than that were not overly impressive. FSU got handed a win, VT over Rutgers by 3, NC St. lost to Vandy.

Yet a lot of people around here will still talk about us having such a tough schedule and how going 6-7 or 5-7 was such a great accomplishment with our incredibly tough schedule.

OSU, TCU, and Texas will be better next year. All three were really young this year.
Everyone else will be down. Well, I guess Kansas may be better, but they're Kansas.

Re: Big 12 gettin worked tonight

The top few teams of the SEC are better than our top couple..but the bottom half is garbage. Hell, Georgia only beat one team with a winning record the whole year (and that was Florida..) and they were one play from being in the NC. Their schedule is so watered down, its how teams like Vanderbilt can go 9-4 without a single quality win.

I don't know how anyone can honestly say this. Complete homer attitude. The BIG didn't get this embarrassed in any of their bowl games. And how many of us would "die" for Iowa's schedule??

The Big 12 lost to a Conf USA team, looked slower than a BIG team against Oregon, and got the **** pushed in against the SEC.

Arizona made a helluva comeback to beat 6-7 Nevada by 1, Washington lost to Boise, Baylor stomped #17 UCLA, Texas beat #13 Oregon St., Arizona St. stomped Navy, USC lost to a 7-7 Georgia Tech, Stanford beat Wisconsin by 6 and Oregon beat KSU by 18.

TT beat Minny, MSU beat a young TCU by 1 off a TCU muffed punt return inside their own 5 and FG with 21 seconds left, Purdue did get embarassed actually by OSU 58-14, NW beat 8-5 Miss. St., Michigan Nebby Wisconsin all lost.

I would love to see the argument on how those two conferences faired better than the Big 12.

Pac 4-4 with the only quality win being Oregon over KSU. I guess you could say #6 Stanford over Wisconsin was "quality"

Big 2-5 with wins over 7-5 TCU and 8-5 Miss St.

The mighty SEC is only 4-3.
