Big 12 in talks with NCAA about playing a 13th game
Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerCBS Commish Bob Bowlsby says Big 12 plans to ask NCAA to revisit rule preventing 10-team leagues from playing 13th game. Big 12 in talks with NCAA about 12-team conference rule - CBSSports.com -

How about we just get a few more teams.

I think this might just be to get another non-conference game, but who knows. The article is kinda vague and just assumes the appeal is for the championship game rule.

I guess if we can add a patsy to our schedule, maybe we can finish 7-6 instead of 6-6. Then go lose our bowl game to finish at 7-7.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Big 12 in talks with NCAA about playing a 13th game
This article discussed adding a Big 12 championship game. I didn't recall it talking about each team in the Big 12 adding a game to their schedule.

This has nothing to do with regular season. Bowlsby is quoted as it referring to post season play.
In my opinion, it's a backup plan for the conference if expansion never happens and further evolution of the playoff occurs or protection of Sugar Bowl agreement.

Re: Big 12 in talks with NCAA about playing a 13th game
So according to NCAA rules you must have divisions and a round robin within a division. I don't see us giving up a conference game and no word on us adding teams so what
North
ISU
Kansas
Kansas State
West Virgina
Oklahoma
South
Baylor
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas
Texas Tech
A team in the North will play more games against a south teams than against north teams. Could we call the North team with the best record against the S division the champ and vice versa?

Playing a conference championship game and splitting the money 10 ways? Ok, I'm good with that.

Re: Big 12 in talks with NCAA about playing a 13th game
I don't like additions to the schedules, as it simply adds to the too many games argument against a playoff, I'd rather go back to 11, no championship games and have a 24 team playoff (with an NIT of sorts for another 24 teams or so).

CW, when oh when do we get a "dislike" option for posts like this? Or at least a "flip bird" option to flip a poster a binary bird when they have it coming.

Who is going to say yes?
Big 12 screwed up big time turning its nose up at Louisville. Big 12 would have been able to poach an ACC team to go with them too not add Cinci or BYU because when the ACC was forced to chose between uconn and Louisville after Mary announced they were going BIG a few ACC schools like GT and Clemson said they'd look to leave if uconn was admitted (goes back to them suing the ACC in 2004 when BC left after VT and Miami.) Big 12 would have been in phenominal shape if they agreed to add L'ville when they were desperate after Cuse, WVA, and Pitts announcement and just waited till after this season to find the 12th team. Probably could have taken any 3 ACC schools and killed the conference.
Louisiville was always seriously underrated. Their football team's stock is obviously higher because of the BCS win but there is corporate money behind them. And basketball was horribly underrated too just because they were being compared to unconvict and their recent nc's the KFC Yum center is the highest grossing college basketball venue in the country nowhere brings in more money than that place. It might have looked like a close call between them and uconn since uconn had bb nc's and a recent BCS game in fb but it was really a no brainer. And uconns bb venues blow they play half their games in a tiny venue in Storrs and the other half in Hartford at the Whalers old stadium its bush league when they play a big game like Texas or Villanova in their little *** arena on campus and not the mall.
