Hook him up to a dogsled when he goes to class. Build some grit.

I see Rodney Coe starting over Irving next year. Or do you all think Coe will RS? If Coe does beat him out, will Irving RS or is it too late for him?

Eh. Only reason I might agree with this is due to his injury. I hope to see him out there he was a good get for us

I've heard from guys close to the team that Williams is one of the worst players on the team. I'd wager that CYphyllis has heard the same. Sometimes good recruits don't amount to squat (Bo Williams).

I've seen Williams around campus a lot. He still looks out of shape for where he should be by now. But maybe that has something to do with his knee.

Sounds like a good business plan. There are some other redshirt freshmen next year that may have a chance though.

While I agree Irving desperately needs a redshirt year, it is not going to happen, and certainly not because Coe beats him out at DE. Coe will be the one redshirting imo.

"Losing" Kennard Banks was the greatest thing to happen to this program in years.

Come on Al. He is one of the classier guys I follow on Twitter.

Hes going to be the hybrid LB, which is essentially a third safety.

better question... did bueker mishandle that snap on purpose on the fg attempt so that he could throw his first and only career pass???
Re: Starting 22 for opener next season...maybe a couple of surprises?
Our DL is in trouble if Woods and/or Jenson are the starters. They are nice depth players to have take some snaps, but they aren't Big12 starters. We need some of the young talent to step up here and be three or four year starters.

Totally agree. Jensen gets blown off the ball constantly. For all the talk of the depth they had this year, only McDonough and Laing were solid players. Durbin was a decent pass rusher. At LB, I thought that George was bad and Miller was atrocious. IMO if either Jensen or Miller are starting, the D is really going to struggle. I think that the only way for the D to be decent next year is if some of the RSFR (Bevins, Aka, Cousins, Meyers, Knott, White, Rogers) step up. Otherwise, they're not going to be able to stop anyone. On the other hand, I have higher hopes for the offense. I think that the OL will be improved, the QB can't be worse (more of a true competition than picking lesser evils), Wimberly will add some explosiveness to RB, the WRs will be better and two TE sets with Bibbs will help both running and in the screen game. IMO the team's success all depends on a group of RSFR stepping up on Defense.

I think you can only make statements about Miller and Jensen based on their performances thus far in their career, who is to say they will not get after it in the off-season and improve where they lack?? As Sophmores AK and JK were not all-world, same with Laing and McD, I remember saying similar thinks about them going into there Junior years, the biggest improvement for all occurred from Soph to Junior year, with the MCD making huge strides going into his senior year....
Re: Starting 22 for opener next season...maybe a couple of surprises?
Miller has room to improve significantly. I wouldn't expect huge improvements from Jenson. He can get a little better, but he is what he is. Depth.
Re: Starting 22 for opener next season...maybe a couple of surprises?
QB-Sam Richardson
Backup: Jared Barnett (if he stays after the spring)
RB-Rotation of Shontrelle Johnson, James White, and Aaron Wimberly. Woody will be the hammer on short yardage situations.
WRs-Albert Gary, Jarvis West, Quenton Bundrage, Dondre Daley...could see a LOT of guys getting looks at WR. Only for sure starter is West, in my opinion.
TE-Ernst Brun
LT-Jake Campos
LG-Ethan Tuftee
C-Tom Farniok
RG-Kyle Lichtenberg
RT-Jake Gannon
K-Edwin Arceo
P-Kirby Vanderkemp
DE-Willie Scott
DT-Brandon Jensen
DT-Walter Woods
DE-David Irving
SLB-Jevohn Miller
WLB-Jeremiah George
Nickel-Deon Broomfield
CB- Matt Watson
CB- Clinton Stokes
FS- Jacques Washington
SS-Jared Brackens
Captains- Jacques Washington, Ethan Tuftee, Kirby Vanderkemp, Deon Broomfield
If there was a year where Paul Rhoads proves the theorists like Phil Steele right with a bad record, it's probably next year.
