You nearly stole my thunder. I was just about to make this thread.
And it's not the first repeat
Idk, I still may prefer "One Shining Moment." :jimlad:
Coach Rhoads at :51 seconds also...
Don't like how they turned Penn State into a feel good story this year.
Out of curiosity, why don't you like this?
I think it is a great story in regards to the Penn State football players and current coaches who had nothing to do with the crap that happened there before them. They did overcome a lot of obstacles and come together as a team and was successful.
I agree with Watcha.
The Penn State football players and current coaches didn't have anything to do with it, but the Athletic Department certainly did. Yes, people have been fired but the AD as a whole profited immensely from avoiding scandal during JoePas tenure.
Now pumping sunshine and making PSU football a feel good story for the year makes it like nothing ever happened. They were punished severely for a reason. IMHO they should have gotten the death penalty to show that a cover-up of that magnitude should never happen again, anywhere.
To me, PSU football having some success means 2 things.
1. The Big Ten sucks if PSU could have that good of a record after losing a bunch of players
2. The punishments weren't harsh enough. Hopefully the effect of the loss of scholarships will be more evident in years to come.
Cool video, thanks for sharing.
I think, no matter what you do, you have to include Penn State in this video in some shape or form. IMO, the way they did it was about right. I was one who in the beginning wished them to lose every game. I've come around on it a bit. They still have tough penalties to deal with. While obviously the horrible situation that occurred should definitely be punished and never happen again, it's worthwhile to at least acknowledge a new coach and shaken team that rose to the occasion and played a good season. Whether you wanted them to win games or not, they did, and I suppose if I were in their shoes I wouldn't just lay down either.
That sure didn't play out in the bowl games. That's with everyone being bumped up at least one matchup because OSU and PSU were ineligible.
I don't disagree at all with what the NCAA did to PSU, but I'm not going to hold a vendetta against a bunch of players and coaches for something they had nothing to do with. I can feel good for them without feeling good for the AD or former coaches who ****ed the whole thing up.
