This score just cements how lucky ND is to be so favored by polls (close wins to bad teams and "great wins" over only decent teams) their easy schedule really wasn't that tough looking back.
I didn't think Bama had this kind of offense, bt they are looking like they massively deserve this. I just wish it would have been the Ducks playing them.

Realistically, if you're the only undefeated team in the country at the end of the season, which ND was, you're going to get the #1 ranking. Even if their schedule was on the weaker side, it wasn't Iowa 2012 schedule weak. They had a few decent teams in there.....which they scuffled to beat, but still got the W's. They deserved the #1 ranking.....but they also deserved the humiliating beat down they're suffering right now because of their refusal to join a conference that might actually test them on a week to week basis.
Well it reminds me of that Ohio State team that squeaked into the title game by beating teams with last second field goals. Difference is, I think the buckeyes won the game, Bama must have still been sanctioned back then.
At least this bowl season might put a stop to all of the idiots pointing to how computer algorithms prove that the B12 is better than the SEC. Until next September at a minimum.
