It is not uncommon for competitive positions to request that your SAT be on the resume.

"That’s a harsh turn of events for a player who seemed to be settling when he committed to Iowa State last month."
This quote just shows what the writer thinks of ISU and prob what the general attitude is of the uninformed general fans of that area. I hope Estime is not just settling for that WMU offer now.
The Kalmazoo football stadium is a joke.

I think he was an academic risk and I really like sending a message with a borderline recruit about taking visits while committed. If one good player decides to not continue visits because of it, it is worth it imo. Especially if he wasn't going to qualify anyway.
Did Campos visit ISU after committing to Mizzou?
yeah that wouldn't be a double standard or anything...signed jake campos.
if you are going to try and pull recruits from their "committed" destination you better expect recruits to be pulled from you. it goes both ways.
cpr probably chastised campos for decommitting from mizzou and committing to isu. clearly not "all in" to mizzou.
Before we start making assumptions about double standards. With Estime being an academic risk, how do we know that CPR didn't but stipulations on the offer. He could've said, you need to be with us 110% and not visit anyone else. Its a sign of good faith on his part seeing we were putting faith in him to get his grades in order.
Quote:
Estime, who previously committed to Purdue before backing off, has interest from several programs, but it is unclear what verbal scholarship offers currently stand. He plans to visit Arkansas later this month, and Tennessee has shown recent interest. He does not have an offer from either program.
Sounds like a kid in the cookie jar looking for attaboys and good times. Not ALL iN.
Ding ding ding.
If the staff is taking a risk on someone and holding a scholarship open for them then they expect that person to not go on other visits.
The Suttles and Estime cases are different. Estime was an academic risk that we were taking a chance on so we expected certain things out of him. Suttles I do not believe is a risk so he most likely has less visit restrictions.
Estime appears to be a guy wandering the desert for years. "It's time" he picked a spot. He sounded like a carpetbagger. If his grades are a problem, why does he have all (th)is-time to travel to Waldo Field in Kalamazoo?
Well for one he may have needed a 24 (if in bottom 38% of class) and 18-20 is the median score of all test takers and all do not take the test. A 29 puts you in the top 10% congrats but not fair to put on every kid. I know folks that I would consider intelligent that did worse than a 24...so if he didnt have the grades it can be a tough road for many.
