It may be more enjoyable if you stop watching with about 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter.


Some brief observations with the benefit of hindsight:

- Many Tulsa fans said something like this coming into the bowl game: "Well, we may have lost the first game, but you guys have since lost your best defensive player (Knott) and we have re-gained OUR best defensive player (#55, Shawn Jackson, who was suspended for the first game)." In hindsight, I think they had a very relevant point. Jackson was all over the place! {PS, he will be back next year...}
- By the time Richardson took a big hit {from who else, #55} with about 5 min. left in the 2nd quarter, you could tell he wasn't feeling well. We found out later he was playing sick. Maybe he should have been pulled at that point???

Nothing against you, but I really dont understand this argument. We all say the alternative. Why would pulling him sooner have changed the fact that we didn't have a better option to put into the game?

Liberty Bowl oh ya I watched that and we lost to Georgia Tech 31-30 on a failed 2 point conversion.

Someday, Roads will get us to another bowl game. The Insight Bowl was so fun, I don't see why he doesn't take us to more bowl games.

Someday Rhoads may even learn how to PREPARE a team for a bowl game.

The last 2 bowl games we should have stayed in Ames......

I said, "maybe he should have been pulled at that point ???" -- I'm just wondering out loud, with the benefit of hindsight (and video replay). Obviously, it was not an easy decision. CPR had to be thinking, "Is Sam playing at 60-70% of his ability still better than Jantz at 100% of his ability?" - Maybe it's about even.

But the best take away is reason for encouragement; the Sam we saw for most of that game was sick (with the Flu, IIRC) and had his bell rung pretty loudly. We'd be hard pressed to see him any worse off.

Can't do a lot about who gets sick when; hopefully the O line can help with the latter a bit next season!

I still have the game sitting on my DVR, haven't touched it. Might watch it sometime when I feel like getting kicked in the gut again. Might just destroy it.....the fewer who see that abomination, the better.
