Interesting that they are recruiting him as a Will linebacker instead of a defensive end. Could be an excellent get. I'll name-drop 'Matt Blair' here...

He's listed at 6'4 205. That isn't even close to DE size. Looking at the SEC, most DE's are at 250-280. Unless the coaching staff thinks this kid can pack on 50-80 lbs. on his frame and still be quick I don't see it happening. Its probably more likely hee can pack on another 20 lbs of muscle and be a beast at the LB position.

I really hope he chooses the Cyclones. Even though it won't be the same position, it would help lessen the sting of losing Suttles in my opinion

This would be a great match.

He seems to be enamored with the Wake Forest education, but that really depends on his field. I suspect that most of their academic reputation is related to graduate programs. They seem to have plenty of room for schlocky academics at the undergraduate level.

Also, why on earth would anyone want to go to the school with perhaps the worst nickname ever: Demon Deacons which could be rendered "servants of demons."

You don't have to be 280 to compete in the Big 12. Willie Scott's pretty effective and he's significantly shorter than this kid.

We really wondered that in seminary. It really seems to be problematic.

    1. I've never heard the word "schlocky" before. Interesting.

    2. What does he want to major in?

We are competing with Wake Forest for recruits?!?! Makes me want to fake cry.
Wake Forest is a glorified convent that has a few males at it also.
I heard they are not allowed to dance there.

Willie Scott is fairly effective, but if you look across college football the teams that seem to be most successful with a pass rush are doing so with players who are around 6'4 250-280. Of course, that isn't the "rule", but the success shouldn't be ignored. Maybe I'm asking for too much at this juncture. We are not there yet.

I suppose my question revolves around this kid's ability to pack on 50 lbs and be effective. I'd just assume he pack on 25-30 lbs. and be a beast at LB. Or, maybe a 3rd down LB to cover a TE.
