Players you like most in this class
After watching the two hour special on our class, I have seen a lot more tape than I have before. This put a lot more of an idea in my head as far as each player and their style. The point of this thread is to talk about who surprised you the most and who do you think will be able to contribute the most to the team.
Players who I didn't know much about but impressed on film:
Wagoner (DE) Looks like a big DE with a great motor, and it seems like he has a good work ethic.
Webster (LB) Great speed. Should be a very good developmental defensive player.
Hodge (QB) Much faster and athletic than I remember seeing when he committed. I am a lot more excited than I was.
Glenn (G) He looks like a complete mauler. His entire film was just pancakes. His drive blocking looked incredible to me.
Trent (DE) Shane Burnham seemed to be extremely excited about him, and he looked like he had great instincts and athleticism on his tape.
Brown (RB) Did an outstanding job of cutting back and hitting holes hard and getting through them as fast as possible. Looks like he has good speed too.
Cotton-Moya DB) Looks really quick and shifty. He almost looks like he could be a returner.
Looks like a guy who would look to take it to the house after a pick.
On the other hand, watching tape of Coe and Wimberly also really impressed me a ton. I figured as JUCOs they would be good players, but wow they both jump off the tape. Both elite athletes.
I am only through the offensive line on the show, so I'll add to it when it's through. I'm a lot more excited than I was before about this class.

"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

Webster, Trent and Madison are impressive on tape. Harris actually looks pretty fast. That said, it's a bunch of highlight tapes. They all look pretty good. Waggoner isn't someone people were excited about but he looks like a worker. Was it just me or does Brown run very upright with short choppy steps?

Or so I have read. -

He seems to rely on a quick jump juke a lot which keeps him upright. It's a good move though, hopefully it works at the next level.
And of course I agree with the highlight tape part, but there are players I wasn't all the impressed with on their tape, but you realize that they have really good size and development potential. I don't think it's necessary to get into that though, especially with the Tribune news coming out.

Outside of the big names that everyone likes, a sleeper in this class that I just LOVE on tape is Kamari Syrie. When Paul Rhoads says he's a downhill VIOLENT tackler... what's not to love? And his videos back that up completely. He just attacks ball carriers.
Justin Webster is very intriguing to me as a LB, which Rhoads says he will play. He could really develop into something special as a LB. He has true RB speed and agility. If he can add a little weight and muscle and not lose his speed and agility.... watch out!

Wimberly and Bibbs will make a HUGE impact next season.

Will Wimberly return punts?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Players you like most in this class
Webster and Lanning are the most intriguing players for myself. With Lanning I could see him playing a variety of positions if they move him from QB. He obviously is a good leader and a very talented athlete. Webster has been my favorite player from this class since the day he committed. He is fast for a linebacker (some list him as 4.4 speed), yet he still has the ability to add weight and be a traditional linebacker opposed to a nickel. We were his biggest offer, but I believe he is very underrated and can't wait to see him play.

Rodney Coe. I will remind you all what we are dealing with here. I AM SO FOOTBALL TO BE YOUR PROUD COACH -
Re: Players you like most in this class
I personally am most excited about Justin Webster, great speed, already a good size, only needing to put on about 20 more pounds, as opposed to say, 40.
