This also means, if the Texas game is on Thursday, October 3, ISU will play on back-to-back Thursdays.

Uh, no it hasn't. 2 of the last 4 years ISU has had 2 of 6 games post 26 OCT. The other 2 years ISU has had 3 of 7 games post 26 OCT. None of those years has ISU had fully half of their home schedule OCT 26 or later.

The point is that ISU fans will likely have a good portion of the home season in cold weather.

I am thinking the opposite. I want payback. ISU needs their dignity back after that last game. If you are afraid to play Tulsa, then don't bother stepping on the field.

With college football scheduling, it would be damn near impossible to back out of this game. There is no way any FBS teams have an opening for next season.

That could make for a nice extended weekend. Ride the bike to Tulsa for the game then head over to Eureka Springs for a couple of days of riding through the Ozarks.

Exactly. People saying that we need to buy out of this game clearly have no clue how football scheduling works. Baylor had SMU back out on them a couple weeks ago and ended up having to schedule Wofford because they couldn't find an FBS opponent this late.

Are we really scared to play them again, I sure as hell am not. Does it suck? yes, but we can beat them.

...and you can only count one FCS game towards bowl eligibility, and ISU's first game is against an FCS opponent (UNI), so scheduling another one would be like playing an exhibition football game.

All I know is that C-USA TV rights are owned by Fox, and a game like ISU-Tulsa isn't moved to Thursday night just for kicks. TV is involved.

That leaves a couple options for TV. The most likely option is...
1. The new Fox Sports One channel will show this game. The station is kicking off sometime this summer/August.

Other options would be
2. Fox Sports Two channel
3. FSN regional networks would be an option, but with MLB still in action, you'd think Fox Sports One or Fox Sports Two as a national game would be more likely than FSN

People were saying we needed to buy out of that return game a long, long time ago though. Not just now.

I just hope we don't get run over again. That was embarrassing.
