2013 run game
Can't remember the exact interview, but I remember CPR going off about the offense and the run game and how things were going to change. This gets talked about each year, but could this be when we finally see some I-Form or singleback sets to run the ball?

Re: 2013 run game
Long answer: Doubtful.
Short answer: No.

Re: 2013 run game
I'm assuming we'll see more pistol with the addition of Coach K

Re: 2013 run game
I don't think that the sets are really all that relevant. The line just has to block. Go from there.
We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.

Re: 2013 run game
Well with what our passing game will probably be, running the ball might be pretty tough.

Re: 2013 run game
Probably simply more pistol. Maybe some under center but by that I mean only a little bit. Still a shot gun heavy spread offense.

Re: 2013 run game
Things will change. Not sure the average fan will notice but things will change. Little things that should make a pretty good difference.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -
Re: 2013 run game
The O-line needs to run block a whole helluva lot better, regardless of what formation they decide to run out of.

Re: 2013 run game
Better o-line play and some consistent QB play would do more for the running game than any tweaks in the system would.

Re: 2013 run game
Running out of the pistol would allow our backs to hit the line with more speed. I think that could be an advantage.

Re: 2013 run game
More pistol, which will be closer to a traditional running set than what we've been doing out of the shotgun.

Partially true, formation can help a pool o-line out alot. It's harder to hit something coming at you from a sharper angle than it is to get to something going at a fairly flat angle

Re: 2013 run game
I think with Richardson/Rohach behind center and improved O-Line play, i don't see anyway our running game doesn't get better from last year. With what we have returning in the backfield and on the line, how does it get worse?
Also, i believe Wimberly is really going to turn some heads. He will be a great compliment to Woody/White.

Other than that, I'd say that Shaban Dika's health will say a lot as well.
