    Great point.

Let's be real here, Iowa State owes basically it's whole atmosphere to tailgating since our football had been so atrocious for so long. People just stayed outside the stadium and partied. The university trying to make itself out to be some virginal anti alcohol entity is absolutely ridiculous. Students are getting wasted in the student lots and chugging, shotgunning, and bonging whatever they can get their hands on so they make sure they don't lose their buzz in the 4 hours they have until they can get back to the lots. This might even reduce some problems if kids decide that buying a beer or two during the game means it is unnecessary to get belligerently drunk before the game.

Pro stadiums also don't open lots quite as early as college stadiums and pro games typically start earlier, so the average pro fan has probably been drinking for less time than a college so there are probably less problems.

I don't think letting beer vendors in would change the student section at all. Everyone would continue to bring flasks in to save money. The older crowd would generate money though, my dad wouldn't have to borrow one of mine for the cold games anymore.

But that lot thing isnt really relevant to in-game sales.

Moot point for discussion based on current opinions of the decision maker.

At this point in time (was in within the last 12 months) Jamie does not want to deal with it beyond high donor level.

This can change, but as last stated - "not on my watch" and this is a quote.

Everyone can change their minds and perhaps he will but this is a direct personal quote in response to thequestion of allowing sales.

I am not arguing pr or con, just stating the information.

Fans are already drinking. ISU sells alcohol to many as is in the club, johnny's and stage door, and many sneak their own in.
Are you kidding me - you comparing us to pro stadiums? Have you been in the upper level of Arrowhead around these drunks? Fights and f-bombs galore. The pro fan is a different breed than the college fan. I would be okay with it at JT but not in Hilton.

Sounds like CF needs to pool money together and get JP a new watch.

Thing is they (students) were drinking. They sneak rum shots in and pour them in cokes and drink a lot more than they would with $7 beers. Look at Iowa Cubs or venues like that its not really an issue. Plus they are letting the big donors and sponsors drink (which is what the article was reffering to I believe) so why not make some money off it.

I could care less. I'm not going to lie, my friends and I will buy a little bottle of captain (like the $5 ones) and then buy two or three large cokes and mix it in. Pretty much every student in the student section (okay not everyone) but a lot of students drink during the games with flasks that they've sneaked in
