I bet ISU does a good job leading to the game with appropriate "reminders" of why we are wearing them. Have to remember, outside of this website, the casual fan may not know the whole story of Jack Trice.
I really like that color gold.
The article does state starting Aug. 9 they will be online auction for these. It'll be interesting to see what kind of money they bring!
Also noticed this at the bottom of the article.
Fans can also buy replica merchandise at the following outlets: Cy’s Locker Room (Ames), University Bookstore (Ames) and Scheels (Des Moines, Coralville).
i'd have to agree that the number is very un-attractive and seems to take away alot from the design. however, i'm glad they are more muted than the mock ups and used colors that actually are more authentic. lastly, the socks...thank god they didn't do the knee-high socks from the mock-ups...
two thoughts on the this whole thing...1st, cool to see fans sort of kick this off and be such a big part of the process 2nd- i hope people realize that it is very difficult to take a photoshop edited picture and make it look the same in real life...
Eh not bad. I wish the numbers were in the corner on the front and gold instead of white, but it's better than nothing.
This was my thought too. I don't care for that and I wish they had the old school I or cyclone logo instead of the number on the helm. Still cool though.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls
