I'm a bit surprised that no one wants to play for CPR!
This was the single thing that surprised me as well. It shows everybody wants to play for a 'winner'.
What they don't think about is-- how would CPR do with the Texas, OU, or TCU programs? I think he would do just as well as all of those programs 'winners'.

Everything said makes sense. Having a bird as a mascot really doesn't make sense. I like Cy but I'm an alum. Have no idea what the player experience is in Ames. We see the ticket holder/tailgate experience which is one of the best. Our uniforms? Nothing stands out about them.
In what category should ISU be "respected" in? Who gives a **** what other players think of our mascot or uniforms?
The problem Sparky is that today's players were yesterday's recruits, so it's pretty safe to say their opinions are pretty close to what current recruits opinions are. Being respected is definitely an issue and lack of it hurts our program.
How is Cy any different that the U's Ibis? AT least Cy the Cardinal fits in with our past and color scheme (Cardinal and Gold) The Ibis makes zero sense.
Anyway I am for giving everyone a nice big Shitburger to eat. We will get our respect when we take it. Ask Fred.
Sebastian the Ibis makes complete sense and you have to do even less research to put the connections together than you do with Cy.
The ibis was chosen as Miami's unofficial mascot in 1926 when the school's yearbook chose its name to be "The Ibis."
"Miami adopted a native marsh bird called the Ibis as the official mascot in 1926. The Ibis is known for its bravery as a hurricane approaches. Folklore maintains that other birds look to the Ibis for leadership. The Ibis uses its instinct to detect danger. It is the last sign of wildlife to take shelter before a hurricane hits, giving warning that danger is imminent. As the storm passes the Ibis is the first to reappear, a sign that clear skies are approaching."
