Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
This might be piling on, but I could not be more demoralized about that game yesterday. I just can't see a scenario where this isn't a chiz-esque season with some blowouts mixed in. Please talk me off the ledge if possible.
I'm 100% with you. Anyone that can see any other scenario is in a state where cannabis is legal. This has to rank up there as one of the biggest opening duds in ISU history. Last night I was thinking some of Jim Walden's teams would have scored 30 on this team they were so inexcusably bad.
All I have thought about all morning is how bad we are going to be. All that excitement, down the tube. We may get 1 or 2, I honestly don't see more than that. I want to be wrong so bad. Maybe get Iowa and Kansas. That's it.
Of course that's a disappointing start. However - it's only one game. We have no way of knowing if it was just a bad night or if the problems last night will be par for the course all season long. If the same issues are still popping up by the end of September, then sell your tickets or burn them or jump off the ledge or whatever. But for now, take a deep breath and let this one go. One bad game is an aberration. Two bad games is coincidence. Three is a trend. Let's see how things look after the Tulsa game.
I think we will improve, unfortunately not to the point where we will be any good. I still think we may win a couple of games, also the Big 12 looks to be as bad as it has been in a long time. We will get hammered by the good teams but can probably hang with the lower tier.
By season end, we may improve to what we were last year at the end.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
It wouldn't hurt to ask why our team seems so unconcerned with protecting its own house. Isn't the whole point of building the gameday atmosphere and selling more tickets to make the Jack a tougher place to win? I'm assuming that nobody realized that they actually had to make plays to win.
