Richardson has a 1-3 record against 4 awful AWFUL teams (the best defense he's seen was the FCS team.) Dominating the spring game is in line with what he's doing (look average and not make big mistakes hitting easy short throws while the team gets its *** kicked by inferior competition) fact of the matter is ISU doesn't play any scary defenses this year only OU is legit Richardson needs to be more than average and he needs to get his team a W this weekend.
I understand if the team sticks with him the entire season he's not playing in a wy that screams to be benched and the lack of love for Rohach means he underwhelmed in the offseason and practice. BUt 5 or less wins should mean the job for next year is wide open, Rohach deserves that given he is a highly ranked recruit. Rohach would probably transfer as well if Richardson has a horrible record and keeps his job.
I think Richardson should have played better in all his games since KU. 3 games where if he hits 2-3 more passes down field ISU probably finds a way to win. WVA was OK but could have been better their D was pathetic last year couple more big throws wins the game and ISU isn't trying to march from behind at the end. Bowl game he was the first Cyclone to quit and pack it in once a little adversity hit. 1AA- winning QBs grind those games out out of pride.
Here's where I'm at: How about we let the people that watch these players compete everyday in practice and in the weight room and know 5000 times more about who should be doing what make these kinds of decisions, mmkay?
The best player on the team is not always the backup QB.
I think Rhoads/staff has proven with last years rotation of QB's that he is not afraid to try to give another player a shot if he thinks they have a chance to be better than the guy on the depth chart ahead of him.
Safe to say that in my opinion I trust the CPR and staff have evaluated GR and SR and made their decision based on that.
Jevohn Miller started at LB against UNI. That's some pretty damning evidence that our coaching staff perhaps hasn't earned the trust that all of us put into them. I was a strong sipper of the Kool-Aid, but the UNI game has taken my blinders off. This staff has their work cut out for them this season, and they had better stop self-inflicting some of the wounds.
