Maurice Gray
I didnt realize this kid will graduate next week and SIGN as well. That would be great to get a kid like that wrapped up. Too bad we couldnt have brought him in last week.
Bringing a kid to a town like Ames Iowa is tough enough (considering he stated he was going to base his commit off of living environment) but to bring him in with no students or gameday atmosphere to show off.
The good news is he sees us as equals to OSU in every other category.
Lets hope he signs with us next week.

Re: Maurice Gray
Let's hope he's into tobogganning.

Re: Maurice Gray
I really like the fact that we are his last visit. ISU will be fresh in his minds when he decides in the next couple of weeks!!

This would be huge.....i see on Baylors Rivals page and Arizona States rival pages that two of our recruits one committed and one not committed may not be sure things any more....
Tracy Robertson visited Baylor on was impressed by his visit...now he's from Houston and my guess is that we will be lucky to keep him at this point.....Besides, with Baylors hiring of Briles, theres a lot of excitement around that program just as there was last year when ISU signed Chiz.... Baylor Bears Football: SicEmSports.com
ASU's rivals page said that Kendrick Payne had them on the top of his list....I'm okay with that, i thought he was way undersized to play tackle at the next level anyway....He would have to put on at least 40-50 pounds to be legitimate d-tackle in the big 12.....we'll see....However, some very good schools are recruiting him now, i think were out. Arizona State Football Recruiting
If we did lose Robertson who i know had discussed earlier that he was going to keep his options open, i sure hope were not left standing there and then use the schollie on a filler DE that don't have the skillz necessary beings that was one of our weakest positions this year....
Two names to keep in mind is Larry Ford and David Bedford. Ford had verbaled to WVU and now that Rich Rod is taking the michigan job, maybe Larry Ford a solid D-end prospect might be back on the market. David Bedford at one time was thought to be going to USF, but then WVU came calling and he just visited one week ago....so who knows what he will do now that Rodriguez is gone....Bedford would solve a lot of our problems at the end position, a real game changer.....

Re: Maurice Gray
Robertson is gone. He is going to Baylor. This really hurts b/c 2 of our better D Line committs have D committed in the last week or so. If we get Gray to commit this week that would be great but we still need to pressure the QB's or our DB's are going to continue to get torched

Re: Maurice Gray
Saw him at the airport this morning flipping through the media guide. I don't follow recruiting so I had no idea who it was until I saw this thread. Maybe thats a good thing since if I had said something to him the NCAA would have deemed him ineligible for talking to a booster or something... -
Re: Maurice Gray
OSU thinks they have Gray wrapped up. Hope we made a solid impression having his ear last and he comes to the good guys. I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Maurice Gray
Does he want this guy as his coach?!?! Maybe if it were something other that Coors Light. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omM8xEnAFcE&feature=related"]YouTube - Gundy for Coors[/ame] -

I would think that if OSU had him wrapped up he wouldn't be taking visits anywhere else. Much like Robertson taking a trip to Baylor and DJ Marshall taking a trip to Kansas we lost both of them, lets hope Gray goes with the good guys.

Re: Maurice Gray
If memory serves me correctly, JJ Bass verballed, then decommitted, then signed with the good guys. I really like the DT prospects of James Brown and Adrin Haughton. Plus I like the idea of Bedford. If we add Brown and Haughton then Guillory could stay at DE. We need a couple BIG DT's. At this point in the year I think our commitment list is much better than it has been in the past under Mac. We are only in mid December. Plus we really don't know how many other commits are being kept under wraps in order to protect them.

I hope your wrong, he has that look that he could be a very good player....but if he decides to go to Baylor.....what can we really do....
Our biggest needs right now....DE and DB both positions need playmakers, i think were lacking at both positions for playmakers........hope we get gray, johnson, benton...i would be very pleased then....

There is an article on his visit to Baylor and the title said he was impressed, but i dont waste my money there anymore so I really dont know what the it all said. They still list him as an ISU commit, and they usually change it as soon as someone changes their verbal.
Id rather be fighting Auburn or Oklahoma for recruits than Baylor.

Re: Maurice Gray
I really don't think this helps a lot but, OSU has 4 DB's committed right now. I'm sure Gray would start over those 4 freshmen though. It could only work in our favor that we have no "true" DB's committed.
