Bill Hodge of CSTV is also reporting it:

    Three for Cyclones

    Re: David Grant

CSTV also had this comment regarding David Grant: Committed to OklaSt, but offer withdrawn. IaSt, Neb, Bay, Hou, TT, UTEP were the schools looking at him. Would be interesting to know more about the offer being withdrawn?

    Re: David Grant

Sounds good except the withdrawn offer can't we get an offensive line recruit that doesn't have question marks?

Ok St has 29 commits, maybe time expired or just ran out of schollies. I guess I don't see it as a bad thing.

Chizik apparently likes bringing in Gigantic dudes. Haughton and Grant are big boys.

I agree. Automatic assumption the kid has issues because someone reports his offer was withdrawn. How liable is the source that reported his offere was withdrawn? Do we know for certain that the kid did not change his mind just like about a thousand other kids?

If he is not a 5 star kid he must suck! (Tongue in cheek!)

I will take a 6'6" 300 lbs kid over the 6'0" 265 lbs we used to get.

What I love about these recruits is that although 300++ they are not big tubs. These young men are built. They look like 300 lbs. of bulldozer power. Give them 2 yrs. with Sheppard and they could be unstoppable. Now we have to make sure we have a QB that can throw over the top of 5 skyscrapers.

Am I the only one who would still take Joe King, even with Grant, Haughton, Tuftee and Bykowski committed? Just what the doctor ordered! Prep running backs will be drooling to run behind these guys in a couple of years!

Go back the last ten years and tell me when we got a 6 foot 265 OL guy. People use to complain the McCarney only got huge, slow O Lineman. Look at the Fishers, Brants of our O Line. Huge guys, slow feet

With that said I will take a Ben Lamaak type guy any day. Comes in weighing 250 and athletic, and you build him into a OL. Size is easier to put on then speed

Actually it stated as per rivals 9/19/2007 that Okie St had pulled their schollie. Now, in looking at their commits, they already had 4 lineman when he accepted on 7/2007 but, their are two other commits that also committed right around the same timeframe, maybe his schollie was gone by the time he accepted, who really knows.

I do know this, very good read on him in this article....

Also, notice he's listed as a Second Team ALL TEXAS..this is a very impressive list of athletes. Also noticed that the athlete Derrick Grant we were after who just committed to Texas, was third team...

Our other 3* recruit from Texas Darius Darks made 2nd team utility player, which again is a statement for him as an athlete.

Now, if we could seal the deal with Greg Brown who is a very good looking prospect at CB and made third team, it would give us three players out of the best of the best of texas...thats very good and will continue to get better if we win some games and continue to grow those recruiting lines.
