Re: Increase in ticket prices...
If there's 2 things I learned from the 2 Lisa Dukes classes I took, there 1)a small price increase every year or 2 is better than one big increase every 5 or so years and 2)once you lower ticket prices, the consumer perceives it to be an inferior product.
Did the TOTAL price of tickets increase or just the per game cost? There is a BIG difference between the 2.

I believe the total price stayed the same, meaning the per game cost increased.
Re: Increase in ticket prices...
If you want to see a cheap ticket go to a Drake, UNI or small college game.
We knew this was coming, FB feeds the whole athletic dept, and even though football isnt where it needs to be, there are other sports doing very well.

Request:
-Please use a little courtesy when discussing this!!
-When our prices have gone up 50% in the last two years, with a major re-indexing coming up, it is a fair point for discussion.
-Many of these fans raising questions have had seats for years and been good donors. When it begins to cost them several hundred (or more) in increases over a couple of years they have a right to voice an opinion.
-It is really to simple to just tell them to move to the grass, or we have to pay to win. However, that does not respect what they have done as fans.
-Now I can support the pricing, but it is beginning to be felt. I am keeping my tickets and donation level. However, I have some empathy for those struggling with it.
-This is a marketing question of at what level will we begin to see diminising returns or a backlash. We probably are not there yet, but depending on several future factors we could be getting to that point.
-I am not arguing pro or con, just suggesting that a short comments like pay to play, give up your seats, stop complaining, are not fair either.

I'm sorry, but if the people against the increases can gripe about it, then those of us who think it is more than fair can gripe about the complainers. It's a two way street. As I've said all along, there are less expensive, viable options and you really do need to pay to play or you will be pushed to the side in favor of someone who is capable. Simple economics and although you may have been paying $250 to sit on the 50yd line for the last 20 years....it isn't the case anymore.
If I have to accept Thursday night openers, then the rest of you can accept the price increases. Don't mean to be harsh, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

So there was no increase in price this year.

No, season ticket is still $350. But you get one less game for the same money as last year.
Re: Increase in ticket prices...
The face value of tickets did go up. So yes, there was a price increase. I happen to know somebody who works in the PR department at ISU and the athletic office contacted them months ago when they were planning on this so they could get ready for the onslaught of ****** off people. Some people like me are probably griping too much about this. But honestly, it makes me less excited about ISU football knowing I'm going to have to spend that much to take part, and I'm still going to find myself in worse seats next year.
Re: Increase in ticket prices...
If you're fine with the quality of our football program over the last few decades, then yes, complain about wanting to keep ticket prices down. If however you desire a higher quality product, then you can't have it without paying for it. Very simple.
Also, can someone clue me in on what I'm missing by not purchasing a parking pass? My group has parked in the grass lots off of 16th St for the past several years and enjoy the grass on hot days as well as not having to fight the traffic coming out of the stadium after the game. We have great tailgating and often times have opposing fans nearby (which can be fun too). I don't see the advantage to getting a pass. Pls explain.

My parking pass was for the grass lot G7. $50 for all games instead of $15 each game(would have been $105 for the season). Plus it had all the benefits that you listed.

You can get to your car quicker for beer at halftime.

So, in years we have 8 home games you think they should raise the price?

Not next season.....unless you don't want to get back into the stadium for the second half.

I'd like to see the list of conference ticket prices. ISU is at $59 a game for great seats. How does that compare? And, you have to take into account that most other conference teams will be upping their prices as well. I'm betting that ISU is close to the middle of the conference, if not on the low end. And then you factor in donation levels and I think ISU is probably at or near the bottom.
If people don't like the prices, buy a Cy's Pack. Those are cheap tickets with no donation and still get you into the stadium. Sorry, but we're going to have to support this athletic department at a Big XII level if we don't want to move to CUSA.
