ISU sends 3 to the East/West shrine game...Vermeil wearing ISU hat

College ball aint over just yet.
Blythe, Bowen, and Athyba get roster spots.

Rosters are set for east/west shrine game(Jan 19). Good too see some serious Big 12 offensive talent on the west team. The East West Shrine Game - January 19, 2008

Some notable offensive weapons...
KU-Marcus Henry(wr)---Brandon McAnderson(RB)
MU-William Frankiln(WR)
NU-Sam Keller(QB)
OU-Allen Patrick(RB)
OSU-Dantrell Savage(RB)

Iowa had a couple guys on the East. Iwebema(sp?) and I think another D-lineman...didnt really look into it much.

Rosters not announced yet in the senior bowl but according to the stories online.....
Big 12 Players In the 2008 Under Armour Senior Bowl

Colorado: Jordon Dizon, LB; Terrence Wheatley, DB
Kansas State: Jordy Nelson, WR
Missouri: Martin Rucker, TE
Nebraska: Carl Nicks, OL
Oklahoma: D.J. Wolfe, DB
Oklahoma State: Adarius Bowman, WR; Dantrell Savage, RB
Texas: Marcus Griffin, DB; Limas Sweed, WR
Texas A&M: Red Bryant, DL; Cody Wallace, OL

Apparently Savage of OSU gets in both game(?)

On the treadmill i had a thought that I'd like to see a betting event on how long that upcoming "eli stone" show lasts on (ABC?)

At the start of the season two years ago, we would have all bet that Bret Meyer would be in this game. Am I right on this?

Blythe did not deserve it, he has not done anything since he was a freshman.

You must be forgetting that 4 TD catch performance at Texas A&M in 2005. I believe he was a sophomore that year.

Betting line on how many tackles Bowen makes?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

I am surprised that Meyer did not make this team. Is Meyer playing in any of the other post season games?

Re: ISU sends 3 to the East/West shrine game

I guess I am not extremely surprised that Meyer did not make the East/West game, but I thought he would make the roster for one of these games.

I have seen him rated as as the #20 quarterback on some draft boards.

I would all bet all my Cy-credits that Myer is not selected in the NFL draft. Maybe some team would try and sign him afterwards to try and play wr but thats all i see.

Also id guess only 2 to 3 QB's get selected per round in the draft so #20(regardless of who the player is) probably doesnt put him in the draft.

Anyone know what the future is for Bret? I am assuming it isn't football - at least not on Sundays.

I don't think Meyer will get drafted either, but many of the guys that play in these games don't get drafted. I wouldn't be shocked if he made a practice squad in the NFL.

If Tarvaris Jackson, Vinny Testaverde and Chris Weinke can start in the NFL it wouldn't be too shocking to see Bret Meyer on a practice squad.
