Re: Signing Day Wrap-up and Review

I thought that this was a B class, and considering this was Chizik's first full rodeo certainly not bad.

Then Chizik scored what might be the coup of the day in landing Sedrick Johnson. Now I'm giving this class a B+ to A-. While we may be last in the Big XII in recruiting, considering the coaching talent we have in Chizik, Bolt, and McF, not to mention Shep, this class could be the start of a monster for the next 4-5 years.

Re: Signing Day Wrap-up and Review

so did GMAC just get a recruit 2? from everything i have read S. Johnson wants to play bball as well as fball.. could be somthing pretty cool

(sorry if im statin things that have already been talked about.. i went to bed at 6am this mornin.. and im still a little out of it..)

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

After all the meltdown I've been reading about this recruiting class the past few weeks, today was awesome!!! Getting the Johnsons' was superb!!! With our record and lack of tradition we beat out the Michigans, West Virginia's, and the A&M's....unbelievable!!!

Now can people be happy that not everything was released

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Fine class. Let's hope quite a few have the heart, head, character, and commitment. I'm betting 1 or 2 of the tall TE's will end up on the OL - 6'6" seems to be what is necessary out there on the end of the line. Good job, Chiz and staff!

Re: Signing Day Wrap-up and Review

I like this class, as it seems we went and got college ready players, and not a lot of "hope he turns out because of coaching" guys. Speed, speed, and more speed was added. As far as foundations go and Chiz's first class - I'll give it an A-, especially on potential.
But as far as how the class is, we just have to see where they are in 1, 2, 3, and 4 years... I'd love to see this class be the first in a long time to go undefeated against EIU, and I'd love to see them be the start of annual contention in the North division.
Best of luck boys - I'm very happy to welcome you!

Re: Signing Day Wrap-up and Review

I can't help but notice that Sedrick is listed at 6-4 180 at cyclones.com. That isn't a great indicator of tons of PT as a true frosh.

Jeremy, can you say with certainty that Bo, as a January enrollee, doesn't count against last year's total?

Re: Signing Day Wrap-up and Review

Yes, since I'm a CF fan. But for those CR guys paying for the premium inside stuff, I would think that would be a different matter.
