Re: Brayden Burris

Everything on this kid I found online shows him at either 230 or 250 lbs. as a 2 star lineman. Does anyone have anything to get me a little more excited about this one?

And as crummy as this one felt, Cyclone fans, it could be a lot worse. You could be a Hawkeye. - Sean Keeler (imagine that, actually quoting Keeler!)

Brayden Burris - Football Recruiting

He has a Rivals Rating of 5.4 which puts him on the cusp of being a 3 star (5.5). Looks like a nice addition to the OL for the future.

Watch his rivals videos. You will be impressed if you know what to look for in evaluating OL film.

He's also been committed to a mediocre program for a long time. That doesn't exactly do wonders for star ratings.

Who cares anyway? He's got the size, so we'll see if he pans out.

On Cyclones.com it has him at 6-7...just letting you know...no big deal but the bigger they are the more a** they kick!

He sounds like he needs to eat about 20 meals a day, but he sounds like a pretty good prospect.

No complaints. If he really is that tall, he and Bykowski could be a pair of intimidating tackles one day!

ISU Signs Another All-State Footballer

AMES, Iowa -- First-team all-state offensive lineman Brayden Burris (6-7, 250) of Wichita (Kan.) Bishop Carroll High School is the 25th member of Iowa State's 2008 football recruiting class, Cyclone head coach Gene Chizik announced Thursday. He is the 23rd high school senior in the class that also includes one junior college transfer and a freshman transfer already enrolled at ISU.

Burris earned first-team all-state honors as an offensive tackle from the Wichita Eagle and the Topeka Capital-Journal. He also earned first-team honors from Kansas' high school coaches. Bishop Carroll was 11-2 last season, losing in the Class 5-A championship game.
