Favorite Iowa State Wins
1. 1998 vs. Iowa. Mostly a no brainer. Most important to me because it was my first Iowa State football game I ever watched in person.
2. 2001 vs. Pitt. Moses out, they have nobody to return punts. Except a guy named JaMaine Billups......
3. 2005 vs. Texas A&M. Best road trip of my life. Not to mention we kicked their ***.
4. 2004 vs. Kansas State. Best fourth quarter comeback I've ever seen. Gave me the first scent of what a division championship MIGHT taste like.
5. 2002 vs. Iowa. Surprised this isn't higher? So am I.
6. 2000 vs. Oklahoma State. I will never forget listening to Pete Taylor's call on the Rosenfels to Danielson post pattern for the win. Very nice farther son bonding around an open pickup and a roaring fire ;)
7. 1996 vs. Missouri. I was a youngin, but I rember my dad telling me that "You might never hear of a running back having a game like that again in your lifetime"
8. 2002 vs. Nebraska. "You know what Eric, this may not be the Nebraska of old, but it's certainly the Cyclones of new."
9. 2002 vs. Texas Tech. The Run. Hell of a wollup by Wagner.
10. 2001 vs. Kansas. Tony Yelk's pull-back that went for 48 yards. McCarney smoked the school that fired Terry Allen.
Now, I am fairly young, and I lived out of state for nearly half of my life, so I am limited to my Cyclone memories. I'm interested in what everybody else's favorite Cyclone football WINS are. And no, Florida State doesn't count, even though it should .
I'd like to give a shout out to the voice of the Cyclones, Pete Taylor.
I'd also like to do my semi-annual link to CyclonesCentral.com :: Sounds
I wish somebody would pick up in his absence and do some sound or video tracks of some more recent Cyclone games. I know a guy over at hawkeye report does it, I don't see why nobody over here doesn't.

My personal favorites:
1997: vs Baylor - our only win of the season, and the first win I'd personally experianced. Goal posts!
1998: at Iowa - the celebration for the first win in however many - years against EIU was one of my best college memories.

98 game in Iowa. I was planning on watching it on TV, until a friend called me at 7am and asked it I wanted to go. He had a way for us to get in for free. So I took him up, and we went over and got some great seats! It was especially sweet because it was truley shocking for me. I did not expect ISU to even be close in that game.

I had a friend offer me tickets. I decided not to go because every other trip I had made to kinnick ended in brutal dissapointment.
So I decided not to go. We were out and about that day, and kept hearing updates on the radio. I'm still ****** at myself for not going to that game.

Re: Favorite Iowa State Wins
The 2002 Nebraska win was one of my favorites. I lived literally across the street from Trice and allowed many NU fans to park there. They had the attitude that they could not lose no matter what. When we won I got the pleasure of greeting all of them as they came to get their cars. Got fingered by a 85 year old man....he was ******!

98 win at Iowa. I was there, but wasn't fired up about going. We were all holding our breath in the second half as we'd seen Iowa come back too many times before. It was a sweet win and as quiet as I've ever heard Kinnick.
02 win against Nebraska. Sennaca Wallace and Enis Haywood at their best. Sennaca was lightning in a bottle and I've never seen as quick a quarterback since.

1977 against Nebraska....2nd in a row v. the Huskers.
1978 against Iowa....31-0 pasting .......Walter Grant was sweet. On the tube though...damn those first 4 games anyway.

Re: Favorite Iowa State Wins
No mention of '92 vs NU?
Might be one of the bigger upsets ISU has ever had.

Re: Favorite Iowa State Wins
92 NU was awesome because of Marvin Seiler! I couldn't get anyone to go to that game with me because they all thought we were gonna get slaughtered. I went and had the time of my life!!

5. Fred's last win over Kansas at Hilton Fred's last win over Kansas at Hilton in 1995 was awesome! It was so loud in there and he put up like 32 points or so. I think Kansas was #3 at the time.

Re: Favorite Iowa State Wins
The 1923 win over Kansas was AWESOME! We put the big hurt on the Jayhawks. They had no answer to our running game. Plus, we broke out the sweet new leather helmets that day.

Re: Favorite Iowa State Wins
Didn't Fred score the last 18 points of the game for ISU? One of the best performances I've seen by any college player, let alone any Cyclone. Lafester's 56 was right up there though.
