good job for a great coach--i am certain mac will be good for the gators.he will have to come up with a system to stop the gator quarterback.if he can do that,mac would be the happiset coach in florida.

Why would he be the happiest coach in florida for stopping his own qb?

I just want to make sure I understand...He's going to be the DLine coach right? Last year I kep hearing from people that he was the D coordinator, which wasn't true.

D-Line and Associate Head Coach from my understanding.

Charlie Strong is going to be on a lot of short lists next year so I wouldn't be suprised if the DC job opens up soon.... Hope Dan loves Gainesville.

As an LSU fan I can tell you that I am absolutely ecstatic at this hiring!

Looks like the person that posted a while back that he had info from "a very reliable source" that McCarney would be named the HC at the University of South Alabama was wrong. Clearly, McCarney was not going to get that job.

Also, just to clarify, I do not see any specific title for McCarney on Florida's website. Here is what it says:
