Apparently the guy's learned how to run. Now if he learns how to finish clean routes and learns how to block the guy might be a decent NFL player...

IF Todd is running a 4.47 40 then he will probably end up in the 4rd-5th round range. Unfortunatly for him this is a deep WR draft. Speed is overrated at the combine though. Does any one remember Mike Mamula? He was fast and looked great at the combine. Looked like Tarzan, played like Jane. Cris Carter never ran better then a 4.6 and was never the fastest guy on the field. I just hope he gets a shot at playing time once he gets drafted. His career TDs vs catch numbers should get him drafted, once that happens it will be hard work and production that keeps him on the roster. I just hope its on the Vikings, they could use a huge red zone target.

I'd love for the chiefs to get him, they need some bodies at WR and he'd be a nice replacement for Kennison.

There will always be a place in the leage for a 6'5 wideout with sub 4.5 speed. Blythe is a great red zone target, looking at his career touchdown mark proves that. The only things Blythe needs to work on is blocking and being more physical, hes going to have trouble getting seperation from nfl corners. I think he will have a very good career. i would guess he will go mid 3rd round.

I thought he was running a 4.6 before this season started. He msut have either gotten a lot faster or that other figure was wrong.

Maybe those numbers are hand-timed? If that's the case, you'd probably add a tenth at the combine since I think those are electronically timed. So, a 4.57, which is not bad at all. I'd say that puts him in the 5th or 6th round. If he does run sub 4.50 in the combine, he could creep into the 4th round.

He just needs to sharpen his routes and really step up blocking in the running game.

I'm guessing Pitt will be looking for a tall receiver since Big Ben was whining about it a few weeks ago...

Exactly. Unless he solves this he is a day 2 hopeful... even at 4.4 speed. WR spot is more than running fast in a straight line. Especially needs to work on blocking since he will be a #3 WR (at best) on most teams.

He never ran anyhting close to 4.4 in college. I think he/someone is trying to hype him up to get more moxey around blythe. I like the guy and he is a great big target, but 4.4, give me a break.
FYI...Devin hester (bears return man) runs a 4.45 to put that into perspective.
