If this is true, and there must be at least some truth in all of this, I think there could be some legal issues. Did A&M stay in contact with the family after signing day, or did the mother do all of the contacting because she really didn't want him here?

I've never understood the whole signing of the LOI from the parent when the player is 18. They still have to do it. Why?????

I just checked the letter of intent, parental or legal guardian signature is required for those under 21. Must be the magical NCAA age.

I think Sedrick is eventually going to be going here. I imagine if the mother took some white out to her ex-husbands name, that could get her into all sorts of legal mess. If Sedrick had a change of heart (since he did suddenly switch commitments), then good riddance. I don't want players on this team who don't really want to be here.

What about the TexAgs message board comments about the only reason he went to ISU wasn he didnt right the "Special Test" to get into A&M. Our best case would be that Sed wants to be a clone, his Mom didnt. Called Dad, he came and signed the LOI and that was it. Now his Mom is claiming his Dad didnt have the right to do that.

If I do not have a living parent or a legal guardian, the person who is acting in the capacity of a guardian may seek permission from the NLI Policy & Review Committee to sign this NLI.

To me it seems that a parent can sign even if he/she is not the legal guardian.
