RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

WalterFootball.com: 2008 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2 according to this mock draft rubin could go as high as late in the second round. I would love to see that happen.

That would be awesome if he did go that high but i think the 2nd may be a bit of a stretch for Rubin even though his stock has continuously gone up lately

At this rate he will be a top 10 pick by draft day.

This has to be a testament to Shep doesn't it? I know he only had one year w/ Rubin but the difference between this guy from year one to two was pretty significant

And Pelton - I honestly think he has the ability to be a great coach for us and eventually a D-Coordinator somewhere. Hopefully with us after Bolt retires.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

I can't say I suprised with a 2nd round grade. for some reason DTs in college are getting smaller while O-linemen are getting bigger. Guys like Pat Williams, Shaun Rogers, and John Henderson are getting fewer and fewer. Rubin has both the size and lateral quicknees that pro teams like. He had a very good week of practice at the Shrine game, and got ina fight at a senior bowl practice. Word is that coaches there liked his "fire" and drive. I have a feeling that his combine performance will do a lot to either hurt or help his chances to get drafted in day one.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

I believe that he will go that high. Big athletic defensive linemen are the key to any NFL defense. They're also a rare find. But hey, I've been saying Rubin was the best NFL prospect on the team since the beginning of last season.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

I figured he would go in the middle rounds. I like his play at the point of attack and he does a decent job of stringing out plays for his size. But, he basically has no pass rush. I could see him as a NT in a 3-4. 2nd round would be surprising to me, 3rd wouldn't.

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

The middle 320 pounders are run stoppers and plugging lines. The defensive ends and linebackers do the pass rushing. Really, how many pro noseguards are sack leaders? Tommy Harris of Bears appears with 8.0 at #24.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

Still a lot of time between now and the draft so anything can happen I guess. Realistically 3-4th round is probably more likely. Most of these projections after the top 10 or so are usually a little optimistic.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

I will be surprised if Bowen gets drafted as he's a bit undersized for a LB. Blythe who knows, I haven't seen much on him. I have a feeling his 40 time might not be that impressive either.

Re: RUBIN IN 2ND ROUND?

My feelings:

If Blythe runs a 4.5 or lower, he is drafted for sure. Probably 3-5 round. If he doesn't, he will get a lot of FA looks and may get picked up in one of the late rounds.

Bowen needs to run well at the Combine and convince some team that he will be a dynamite special teams player (he would be). If he can do that, he has a shot at getting drafted. I would say no matter what he will get FA looks as well.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?
