I don't know about anyone else, but i love Banks with his immediate ability to come in and compete for sure maybe even bounce Singleton to Nickel. Wonder though, why we waited on him, wonder how Benton and LJ feel about him coming aboard. If i were one of those two i would be saying i came here to play right away and now after everything is all settled your going to bring a JUCO so i can redshirt.....i might be pissed....Not sure though that if not 1 or both wouldnt still see the field!!!! I think Banks is a stud, but, as a juco, only having him for two years would suck.....
So, if i had my choice, i would rather get the HS kid Jordan Fields. I will take my lumps this year and wager the future success on my program by having kids here for 4-5 years that will elevate the overall talent pool. Here's a write-up on Fields from espn - sounds like a stud. Wonder whats up with him, your not the 23 rated cornerback and not signed unless there's another story to it (Personal or Grades). It is so refreshing to see a cornerback with speed and athleticism who makes run support a distinct priority. Fields is that type of player. For every play he makes in coverage, he makes just as many coming forward and clubbing up the ball carrier. He has good size and is certain to bulk up and become very physical in time. He has extremely fluid hips for a player his size. Can turn and run vertically with just about any receiver in this class. Is extremely quick in his backpedal. He has explosive closing burst and can make up a lot of ground when the ball is in the air. Shows very quick feet and good lateral movement skills. Plants and drives on the ball coming forward with no wasted motion and his ability to stop and start on a dime is impressive. He has good leaping ability and will challenge for the jump ball. Ball skills appear to be very good, and he even has some experience at wide receiver. His top-end speed and ability to make up is excellent -- he tracks the ball very well and attacks it when given chances. He is aggressive versus the run and is an excellent open-field tackler. He really takes pride in run support and shows a good motor in pursuit, sheds blocks quickly and finds the football. Overall, as far as cornerbacks go at this stage, it is rare that you find guys who are close to being what you would like in all phases of the game, and Fields is pretty close. Excellent prospect and athlete.
Either one would be an excellent signing, oh by the way, Terrelle Pryor is still un-announced!!!!!! A side note but does anyone else think that Pryor is a bit on the egotistical side....i mean he's forcing Michigan, Ohio St and Penn St to hold schollies for him.....for whichever team loses, i guess you have one missed schollie......

People keep talking about Fields... but the guy was arrested and for good reason. I don't think we want him to be a Cyclone.

The reason it seems we've been waiting for Banks is b/c he originally verballed with K-State, then was "dropped" by K-State a week before signing day. He was in Ames last weekend for the bball game.

Prior stated he wanted to go to MIami but they never offered him, maybe he is waiting for then to pull their head out of their butt.
