Re: 2008 iowa state football prediction

Isn't it a little too early to be starting this up again? We haven't even got to March Madness yet!

I'd be pleased with 4 or more wins-we're still pretty young

im sorry i just dont see us winning more than 4-5 games this year. with a red shirt freshman at QB, i cant see us making a bowl game

Good thing we will have a redshirt sophomore QB then. Thats good for 6 wins.

I'm kind of a big deal!

I think I'll wait to guess our wins until after spring practice. We don't even know who'll be playing what position.

good call. we have to win the easy non conference games next year. starting off 4-0 will definately help out a young teams confidence going into conference play. if we go into big 12 at 2-2 or worse, it won't be fun to be a cyclone fan again next year.

Thu, Aug 28 South Dakota State Ames, Iowa W
Sat, Sep 06 Kent State Ames, Iowa W
Sat, Sep 13 Iowa at Iowa City, Iowa W
Sat, Sep 20 UNLV at Las Vegas, Nev. W
Sat, Oct 04 Kansas * Ames, Iowa L
Sat, Oct 11 Baylor * at Waco, Texas L
Sat, Oct 18 Nebraska * Ames, Iowa W
Sat, Oct 25 Texas A&M * Ames, Iowa L
Sat, Nov 01 Oklahoma State * at Stillwater, Okla. L
Sat, Nov 08 Colorado * at Boulder, Colo. L
Sat, Nov 15 Missouri * Ames, Iowa L
Sat, Nov 22 Kansas State * at Manhattan, Kan. W

6-6 I think is a respectable season and a good goal. I could see the iowa, Nebraska, Baylor, ATM and KSU games going either way. I'm predicting a 3-2 in those. If we lose all of them, that's another 3-9, but I don't think it is likely.

A possible 5 wins tops. UNLV is a tough decision going off last years games with so so teams but again, that was Chiziks first games as well....im sayin 5 wins, anymore would be a surprise

KU L
Baylor W
Nebraska L
Texas A&M L
Okie State L
CU W

Let's not forget that we were a really bad football team last year. We made HUGE improvements in the second half of the season and I don't think we'll get blown out next year but we're not gonna win many games.

12-0 Baby!!! Unfortunately, we get stiffed by the BCS and end up playing EIU in the Humanitarian Bowl (winning 70-0) while a 9-3 USC teams defeats a 7-5 Notre Dame team in the BCS Championship game (63-0).

I would not feel good about playing a road game at KSU to end the season and get a bowl invite but I could easily see that being the case. I'm really starting to hate KSU. I think Ron Prince is a ***** and Frank Martin is a crook. Long term I can see that athletic department imploding in a major way. Short term they will be tough to beat.

With a little luck, we'll win 4 games. A lot of new faces this year playing in starting roles for the first time.
