For anyone wondering, I got to talk to Roosevelt Maggit. I talked to him about what he expected to play. Coaches told him he will play end "no matter what" the only reason i questioned him was because of his projected weight. He said he is up to 215 right now and hopes to be 230 before he gets here in August. Running a 4.6 40 currently. Id say if DE isnt in store for him, LB certainly is. He could be alot like Ace if he works at it here. But he seems like he really wants to play DE. I told him Shep will put some weight on him, but hes going to get faster as well so he may make a better LB or safety. Just thought i'd let you guys know. I think this is going to be one of the guys that prospers under the radar.

As long as Roosevelt is a legitimate 6-2, rush end should be a good position for him.

How is his last name pronounced? Is it Muh-JIT? Muh-JEET? MAG-jit? Muh-GIT? Muh-GEET? Maggot?

Amazing what they can do with bodies these days.

Remember that Kurtis Taylor took a grayshirt year, so he had an extra year of lifting/conditioning before starting his eligibility and stepping onto a collegiate field.
Hope to see some good things out of Maggit.

We are getting some bigger DE's now, so it'll be good to get some faster DE's for pass rushing situations.

There is no doubt GC looked at size and speed as important criteria. This guy looks like a good find. It will be fun to watch.

Yes, In Fort Dodge Taylor always looked much like a basketball player at ICCC than he did a football player.

And as crummy as this one felt, Cyclone fans, it could be a lot worse. You could be a Hawkeye. - Sean Keeler (imagine that, actually quoting Keeler!)

I remember meeting Taylor and his family his SR year in HS at the Spring Game. He looked like a Safety for sure. It is unreal how he has grown.
