Jason Harris
Once promising, he has kinda fell off the radar. To his credit he has been back and forth on positions quite often. Last I knew he was back at running back. I hope he gets a chance to touch the field some this year besides the special teams he is on.
Pretty solid athlete, just needed to hang onto the ball.

Re: Jason Harris
He looked good in last year's spring game. Hopefully his position will be cleared up and he can excel on the field on Saturdays.

Re: Jason Harris
probably finish his career lost in the shuffle. it happens to alot of guys.

Re: Jason Harris
Jason is a great athlete and person, He is sort of like a David Brown, hidden talent that I for one think could actually shine well at RB. However we have been steady at RB lately and there is a lot of competition. I hope the guys can find a way to use him this season. I think they will.

Re: Jason Harris
Speaking of Harris, he was in w'loo two weeks ago visiting a friend of mine, who told me that he was wearing a dry-fit type sports shirt and he said Jason's upper body is huge....
I still have to wonder if the reality of our success begins and ends with Shep.....from everything i've heard, our players are not going to Camp Snoopy anymore, they're working year round and busting their butts and that has to translate to more success not only from a university aspect but also for the players to get them to a pro quality which helps their draft stock.
Face it, if we start getting some players drafted and they have success, recruiting that position becomes easy....Take EIU for instance, three positions they've had a lot of success at for talent and recruiting OL, TE, Safety......That translates from 2003 OL(all 5 drafted), Clark and Sanders.....

Re: Jason Harris
Yeah, I sit next to a couple football guys in my History class and they are always talking about how they are really sore from workouts. At the same time, they are always talking about how they can't wait for the spring game.

Re: Jason Harris
I would love to see him moved back to safety this year.

Re: Jason Harris
I think that a guy like that needs to see the field a little. Let him return kicks. He definitely has the speed for that. Maybe some slot WR?

Re: Jason Harris
Consider me unimpressed to date. Plenty of potential, yet hasn't shown anything. The constant moving him around has not helped. But as they say, if you play 2 or 3 different positions - you really don't play any of them well (with exception of a very few athletes).
Would be nice if he could prove me wrong and produce for us. I just don't see that happening.

Re: Jason Harris
I'd like to see him take a redshirt this upcoming season. We already have Scales, Bass and Robinson. This would be the perfect time for him to sit out. Then he could join Williams and Robinson in 2009.

I think I just figured out who you are 33! but yeah I would love to see Harris contribute. He had carries as a true frosh and started at safety as a sophomore. With his speed and stature I really hope we can utilize him somewhere other than special teams.

If Harris ever sees the field outside of special teams, it will not be at RB. It would have to be safety. But, I believe that Harris is a message board legend in that many on here believe he is better than he truly is. There is a reason that he has not played much to date.
Hopefully he continues to do a good job at special teams for us and maybe as a backup role at another position.

He looked like he had a ton of potential there his soph. year, after he switched during fall camp to defense and wound up starting and picking off a pass a few games later. Maybe we could redshirt him and switch him back if they don't think he will see time at running back?

Re: Jason Harris
He was dope at tailback on NCAA 2007, returning kicks, 3rd downs, and as the 2nd back on shotgun 2 back sets with a formation sub.
BTW I miss formation subs (removed in the 2008 version, AFAICT).

I give the guy a TON of credit ... playing where the team needs him most. I dont think many guys would be doing too well going back and forth most of their career. I dont think it has so much about him not doing any of them well, more that he moved to Dback when we were REALLY thin.
